God's Plan for You

God's Plan for this World and You

THE view of planet earth, seen from outer space, is very beautiful indeed. Confirmation of this has come from the astronauts who have gazed upon it. The earth is the fairest jewel in God's creation and it is the chosen place in the whole universe where He has promised to reveal His Kingdom in all its glory. That is why it is so beautiful.

The earth, of all the planets in the solar system, is the one that is perfectly suited to all forms of life and the one that orbits at exactly the right distance from the sun to provide comfortable conditions for the human race.

Bible Truth

Is Bible Truth important to your Faith and Salvation ie. will you be saved despite what you believe the bible teaches or does it matter what you believe?

Well the word “truth” appears 237 times in the bible, that alone says it must be important!

Therefore it must be important to understand what “truth” is.

A quick scan of the passages using this word “truth” leave us in no doubt that it is not only important, but vital to our salvation.

John 17:3

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1 John 5:20

20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1 Timothy 2:3-4

3For thisis good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Clearly then knowing what is Bible Truth is important and vital, in addition to this we are also warned that some would depart from the “truth”…

1 Timothy 4:1

1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

1 John 4:6

6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

From these passages it is very clear that we need to know the “truth” about God and His Son as it is taught to us in the Bible.  This means we must learn what this is from the Bible itself.

Don't let your HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL rest with someone else eg. your pastor or minister, YOU owe it to yourself and your family to be fully convinced of what it is you believe to be sure it HOLDS something REAL for you.

We have all been warned by God that there would be many false teachers and Jesus himself has told us that "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."  See Matthew 7:14

Sadly when Christ returns to this earth, many will only then realise that they have believed in lies Jeremiah 16:19

"19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit."

Don't let this be you or your family!

BIBLE TRUTH and true faith must be founded on a fully inspired Bible.

Are mainstream Christian teachings correct?

The true Gospel can suffer from preconceived ideas and misinterpretations.

Find out what the Bible is actually saying and where interpretation can go wrong.

You owe it to yourself and your family to be sure of what it is you believe, the Apostle Paul has told us to "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling"  Philippians 2:12

What We Believe

True Bible Teaching fundamental beliefs are:

  1. The Bible is God's word and the only message from him. It is without error, except for copying and translation errors.
  2. There is only one God - the Father. The Holy Spirit is God's power.
  3. Jesus is the Son of God, and a human being, through his mother Mary.
  4. Man is mortal, having no existence when dead.
  5. By living a sinless life, ending with his sacrificial death by crucifixion, Jesus has opened the way of salvation from death.
  6. Belief and baptism are essential steps to salvation.
  7. God raised Jesus from death. Jesus is currently in Heaven, on God's right hand. He will one day return.
  8. When Jesus returns, he will raise his "sleeping" followers from death and grant immortality to the faithful who have tried to live by God's precepts.
  9. His followers will help him to rule, bringing justice, righteousness and peace to the whole world - the Kingdom of God.

Truth Seeker - True Bible Teaching

The Bible is our only true source for the Truth!

If we claim to follow Christ we should trust in the Scriptures as confidently as Jesus and his Apostles did:

Jesus said that: The Scripture cannot be broken.  (John 10:35)

Paul said that: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Peter said that: For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21)

The things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven (1 Peter 1:12)

God's Offer of LIFE or DEATH

“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.   See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him… This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life…"  Deuteronomy Chapter 30:12-20

From this passage we see how important it is to each one of us that we seek after God and His Word the Bible to us.

Without this we have no hope of LIFE, but only a future of DEATH.

This Word of God was originally given to the Nation of Israel and later it spread via the Apostles of Christ to the World, that even we today might have this same HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL.

It is UP to YOU then to seek out God’s Word, to KNOW what is the TRUTH of God’s Word so that you and your family might KNOW the way of LIFE ETERNAL and the great HOPE of living in God’s Kingdom on EARTH.

Do not let your HOPE rest upon others and most importantly on what others teach, search it out for yourself because we have been warned that the churches would be astray from God’s word in the last days.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”   2 Timothy 4:3-4

Too much is at stake for you to not act yourself to seek out the TRUTH.

Christ himself has told us to do this when he said…

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Godis a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

The Bible Is Our ONLY Guide

The Holy BibleThe Bible provides us with plain Scriptural Teaching for the True Followers of Christ

The statements on this guide represent what we believe is true Bible teaching. The statements are deliberately challenging, asking every reader to compare his own opinions with the plain teaching of Scripture, examining carefully the Bible passages offered as proof. If, as a result, a change of mind and heart is called for, there will be no doubt that the teaching of the Lord, and the book he trusted, must be followed and not what the churches teach.

All Scripture quotations are taken from the New King James (also known as the Revised Authorized) Version of the Bible.

Good Government and a Perfect World

True Bible Teaching - About You and God and Your Hope of Salvation

Good Government and a Perfect World

Good Government and a Perfect World

What makes a Good Government that leads to a Perfect World?TRUE GOVERNMENT

When Jesus returns to the earth, he will set up a new world order. Not the despotic regime of a cruel tyrant nor the vacillating weakness caused by constant political pandering. Jesus will be the good, caring king over a united earth, ruling by the principles of God.

Perfect government will create a world of wonderful conditions for those privileged to live in it, wherever they are.

Let’s consider this coming world order in a little more detail.

Good Government

A common theme in political election campaigns is ‘good government’, or the ability of rulers to apply sound principles across their remit, for the good of all. It seems that many people have lost faith in human governments to achieve this. Turnouts in elections are often very low: 66% in the recent UK General Election was viewed as a ‘bumper year’.

In popular surveys, politicians seem to be less recognised and less trusted than celebrities! Many families and individuals throughout the world are struggling with life and want support from their government in the basics:

paying the bills, educating their children, being looked after if they are ill. If that support seems absent, they will inevitably become cynical. The great news is that good government is at the core of the kingdom which is coming.

And not just ‘good’: the rulership will be God-given and follow His principles.

When Jesus returns, he will set up the worldwide government of the Kingdom of God:

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him…” (Matthew 25:31–32).

We are given a picture of the quality of the government in Isaiah 11:1-2:

"There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord" (Isaiah 11:1–2).

This form of rulership is not like today’s leaders, however well-intentioned they may be.

If we continue to read Isaiah chapter 11 (vs. 3–4), we shall see that this results in justice for everyone. Jesus will not be fooled by clever lawyers or influenced by the wealthy and powerful, but will judge with true  fairness, providing support for all who need it.

He will not be weak though, and he will not tolerate wickedness or opposition to his benign rule. The impact of this is amazing:

"They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" (Isaiah 11:9).

Now that really is a world to live in!

educationEducation is really important. Having education provided is a great benefit,  and the quality and content of that provision is a big talking point for those who have children or are just interested in the development of young people. So in the coming Kingdom, what will people be learning about?

One place we can look for the answer is Isaiah 2:1–3. Here we are presented with a picture of the peoples of the world coming to Jerusalem, to learn from God’s appointed king. The ‘syllabus’ is described as follows:

Many people shall come and say,  “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem" (Isaiah 2:3).

The people of the world – young and old – will be learning about God, His laws and His purpose. Putting these into practice will contribute to the perfect world in which they will live.

Defence tends to be a huge preoccupation for most governments.

Foreign policy is fundamental to their rulership, and the ability to fight and make war is a major spending area (the UK is forecast to spend £45 billion on defence in the current financial financial year). This clearly will be different in the Kingdom of God. With no competing rulers or countries, the need for foreign policy and weaponry will be eliminated. As Isaiah foretold:

"He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore" (Isaiah 2:4).

With Jesus in charge, the weapons of the world can be put beyond use or be turned into agricultural tools. In fact, the people of the world will no longer learn the so-called ‘art’ of warfare. This will be a world at real peace.

We are right to worry about the environment, whether it is changing weather patterns, global warming or the pollution of our air, rivers and seas.

There are various views on the causes, but all agree that our environment is less clean, less safe and less stable than it used to be. Reading Isaiah 35:1–2 gives us insight into what the earth will be like in the Kingdom of God:

"The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing... They shall see the glory of the Lord, the excellency of our God" (Isaiah 35:1–2).

All of this will happen because the glory of God is present. The world will be blossoming, clean, healthy and productive, as we see throughout this chapter. Verses 6–7 contain a graphic picture of springs in the desert and pools of water in the driest of places.

With the power of God in play, we also see in Isaiah 35 (especially verses 3–6) that illnesses and disabilities of all sorts will be healed. There will be no need for a health service or for medical insurance; doctors and nurses will not be needed to care for the sick; “and sorrow and sighing shall flee away” (v10). This will be accompanied by a great long life (Isaiah 65:20) where someone dying at 100 years old would be considered ‘a child’. Ultimately, death will be removed altogether, as we shall see later.

An important part of any government or social order is people’s need to feel safe. This could apply to going out at night, to the threat of crime or oppression of some other sort. Without this type of security, it would be hard to enjoy the benefits of the coming age.

Please read Isaiah 65:17–25, which includes the verse mentioned above.

The existence described here is very different from today. The mood is one of rejoicing and peace. The inhabitants of the Kingdom will be able to live in complete security, occupying their houses and enjoying the fruits of their labours. They will live with a special relationship to their God, where peace reigns throughout the animal and human kingdom, a truly blessed existence, as Isaiah describes it.

A World at Peace

The descriptions we have looked at show the effects of the good government of Jesus: a world at peace, with plenty for all, and the citizens enjoying a special relationship with the God who created everything.

Most of the Bible verses we have used here come from the book of Isaiah. This is unsurprising as the prophet spends large parts of his prophecy describing the kingdom of God in remarkable detail. However, the same picture emerges from across the Bible, in both Old and New Testaments.

Take, for example, the Psalms.

Many Psalms deal with the kingdom of God in subtly different ways, but they are consistent in describing the characteristics of Jesus’ government, the conditions in which his subjects will live and the certainty that it will

Psalm Description

v1, 19 The Kingdom is God's and fulfils promises God made to David

v2 The King will show true justice and not be biased or discriminate against the weak

v3–4 Conditions of social justice and equality

v7 Liberty and the right to live good lives

v9 Opponents given the opportunity to submit, but not allowed to oppose the King

v10–11 The rulers of the world honour King Jesus and worship God

v12–14 The rule of law and protection of the innocent from oppression and violence

v15, 17 The majesty of the King witnessed by all nations

v16 Plenty for all and a fair distribution of wealth

Revelation 21 Description

A poetic description of a new world order being established, the picture follows patterns set down elsewhere in Revelation

v3, 7

The end state of that special relationship between God and His people: He will actually be able to live amongst them on the earth (as sin will have been eradicated)

With all pain and death removed, and no more sorrow or crying, we have a lovely picture of God wiping away tears

v5 This is a new start for all creation

It is worth spending time reading Psalms 2, 22, 45, 89, 110 and 145, to catch glimpses and see more detailed pictures. However, in Psalm 72 we have perhaps the fullest portrayal of the kingdom, as we see summarised on the previous page.

King David wrote the Psalm, initially about his own son Solomon who succeeded him, but ultimately about Jesus his descendant, and the complete fulfilment of the prophecy in God’s Kingdom.

There is More!

The New Testament also tells us about the return of Jesus and the establishment of his kingdom with the authority of God. For example, in Luke 21 we are told that just when the state of the world is at its worst and mankind fears for its survival, “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory” (Luke 21:27).

Then Jesus added this pointer:

“So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near” (Luke 21:31).

Yet as we read, we find that the wonderful conditions we have considered are actually part of a process; a process of changing the world into something even more marvellous.

Reading Revelation chapter 21, we are given an insight into the final state of the world and its inhabitants.

Coming Soon!

So, the Kingdom of God is a wonderful new world order, where men, women and children can live in peace and safety, culminating in an even more awe-inspiring situation, where God lives with His people who never suffer and never die. And the Kingdom is going to be established on earth, as we read in Revelation:

“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15).

We have the opportunity to be in that Kingdom, to enjoy its conditions and look forward to the splendour of its final state. To be a part of it, God asks that we believe Him, are baptised to show that we do, and then live Godcentred lives of purpose, preparing for it.

That’s not much to ask is it?

God's Declared Purpose with YOU and the EARTH

Is YOUR knowledge of the BIBLE

and YOUR belief and worship of GOD

able to SAVE YOU?

Not sure? Well consider this passage from JOHN CHAPTER 17

"1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do."

The Greek word for "know" is 'genosko' and it means to have a thorough intellectual understanding of what something is all about.

Do you have this understanding of God and His Son

Jesus Christ?

The need for this full understanding of the TRUTH is further underlined by Christ's words in John 17:17Only a TRUE understanding of the Word of God can Save YOU

We are sanctified in our understanding of God's word of Truth ie. set apart as special unto God and Christ, without this we cannot be saved.  Just as Israel were not saved when they strayed from their TRUE knowledge of God.

God's special people the nation of Israel were destroyed for lack of knowledge as we read in Hosea 4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

In Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.

In Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

The Apostle Paul has warned us that some would not be in the Faith (ie. the true knowledge of God and Christ)...

1 Timothly 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
And again by the Apostle Peter...

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And in 2 Thessalonians where the Apostle Paul tells us that some would fall away from "the Truth" he says that this would be becaused they had lost their love of the Truth and had chosen rather to believe a lie.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

"10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

And so the Apostle Paul counselled us all to Work out OUR OWN SALVATION...

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

You owe it to yourself and your family to seek the Truth

about God, His Son Jesus and His purpose with you

and this earth.
