JERUSALEM - Future Capital of the WORLD

JERUSALEM ‑ FUTURE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

Jerusalem future capital of the world

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem thou that killest the prophets and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings and ye would not! BEHOLD YOUR HOUSE IS LEFT UNTO YOU DESOLATE."Such was Christ's lamentation for the city and inhabitants of Jerusalem.

The Lord Jesus Christ spoke these words just prior to his Olivet prophecy, which prophesied the final end for Jerusalem and its inhabitants, as divine punishment for rejecting and crucifying the only beloved son of God.

Luke 21:20‑24

"20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter there into. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."

The armies of Rome invaded Judea and destroyed the Jewish state.

In A.D.70 in one of the most terrible sieges ever endured by a city, a Holocaust of horror that has rarely been exceeded in world history, Jerusalem was besieged for more than 3 yrs during which time its inhabitants were reduced to cannibalism.

Finally with its great walls breached, and its buildings destroyed, the Roman soldiers, incensed with rage at the long and costly siege, plundered the city, massacring the remaining survivors.

The Temple of God in which the Lord Jesus Christ himself had worshipped was put to the flame, and then pulled down stone by stone, just as Christ had predicted.

Yet an even greater Temple of God shall be built on this very place some time in the near future...
