God's Plan for You

God's Plan for this World and You

THE view of planet earth, seen from outer space, is very beautiful indeed. Confirmation of this has come from the astronauts who have gazed upon it. The earth is the fairest jewel in God's creation and it is the chosen place in the whole universe where He has promised to reveal His Kingdom in all its glory. That is why it is so beautiful.

The earth, of all the planets in the solar system, is the one that is perfectly suited to all forms of life and the one that orbits at exactly the right distance from the sun to provide comfortable conditions for the human race.

Are mainstream Christian teachings correct?

The true Gospel can suffer from preconceived ideas and misinterpretations.

Find out what the Bible is actually saying and where interpretation can go wrong.

You owe it to yourself and your family to be sure of what it is you believe, the Apostle Paul has told us to "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling"  Philippians 2:12

What We Believe

True Bible Teaching fundamental beliefs are:

  1. The Bible is God's word and the only message from him. It is without error, except for copying and translation errors.
  2. There is only one God - the Father. The Holy Spirit is God's power.
  3. Jesus is the Son of God, and a human being, through his mother Mary.
  4. Man is mortal, having no existence when dead.
  5. By living a sinless life, ending with his sacrificial death by crucifixion, Jesus has opened the way of salvation from death.
  6. Belief and baptism are essential steps to salvation.
  7. God raised Jesus from death. Jesus is currently in Heaven, on God's right hand. He will one day return.
  8. When Jesus returns, he will raise his "sleeping" followers from death and grant immortality to the faithful who have tried to live by God's precepts.
  9. His followers will help him to rule, bringing justice, righteousness and peace to the whole world - the Kingdom of God.

Bible Truth

Truth Seeker - True Bible Teaching

The Bible is our only true source for the Truth!

If we claim to follow Christ we should trust in the Scriptures as confidently as Jesus and his Apostles did:

Jesus said that: The Scripture cannot be broken.  (John 10:35)

Paul said that: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Peter said that: For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21)

The things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven (1 Peter 1:12)

True faith must be founded on a fully inspired Bible.

God's Offer of LIFE or DEATH

“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.   See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him… This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life…"  Deuteronomy Chapter 30:12-20

From this passage we see how important it is to each one of us that we seek after God and His Word the Bible to us.

Without this we have no hope of LIFE, but only a future of DEATH.

This Word of God was originally given to the Nation of Israel and later it spread via the Apostles of Christ to the World, that even we today might have this same HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL.

It is UP to YOU then to seek out God’s Word, to KNOW what is the TRUTH of God’s Word so that you and your family might KNOW the way of LIFE ETERNAL and the great HOPE of living in God’s Kingdom on EARTH.

Do not let your HOPE rest upon others and most importantly on what others teach, search it out for yourself because we have been warned that the churches would be astray from God’s word in the last days.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”   2 Timothy 4:3-4

Too much is at stake for you to not act yourself to seek out the TRUTH.

Christ himself has told us to do this when he said…

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Godis a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

The Dinosaur Problem

T Rex Tissue Stumps Evolutionists

T-Rex Soft Tissue Disproves Evolution

Clip from “T.R.U.T.H. About the Dinosaurs” DVD

Is there something wrong when a supposedly 70 million-year-old tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur is found with soft tissue—including blood vessels and even whole cells? This is what a U.S. researcher reported in late March.  Biologist Mary Schweitzer discovered this soft tissue when it was necessary to break a T. rex’s huge thigh bone.

Schweitzer said that the vessels were flexible and some could even be squeezed. After extensive testing, there was confirmation that this T. rex bone even had hemoglobin (red blood cells).

This discovery is unexplained by evolutionary thinking, which suggests that millions and millions of years have passed since this “King of Dinos” met its demise. Schweitzer is puzzled and cannot understand why this bone was not mineralized. “It’s very amazing. It’s utterly shocking, actually, because it flies in the face of everything we understand about how tissues and cells degrade,” she said on MSNBC.

“It’s very amazing. It’s utterly shocking, actually….”

—Dr. Mary Schweitzer

In 1995, Joe Taylor, a professional dinosaur excavator and a biblical creationist, was curious about the hip girdle of another T. rex that was found in 1916. It was found in the same Hell Creek Formation where Schweitzer’s T. rex bone was found. Taylor was amazed that this 65 million-year-old specimen still had the appearance of skin on the sacral vertebrae. He sent a sample to Azusa Pacific College in California and had it scanned with an electron microscope by Professor Mark Armitage, who found that the bone had collagen filaments intact inside the bone. The presence of collagen suggests that this supposedly 65 million year old fossil was not completely fossilized. Armitage states, “It can’t be but a few thousand years old.”

So the Theory of Evolution is just that ‘A Theory’ that has never been proved and evidence like this says it can’t be and isn’t true.

GOD'S KINGDOM ON EARTH...What will it be like?

Bible Prophecy Provides Evidence That God Exists For All To SEE

God is in CONTROL of this WORLD

God Rules in the Kingdom of MenIn this article about Bible prophecy, John Shepley explains that God is in control of the world and has a glorious plan for its future.

As this article unfolds he will consider what prophecy is and look at some of the things it says about the Time of the End. Even though the immediate future for the world looks quite depressing, the good news is that there is a sure promise of a better time to come, when God’s kingdom is established here.

God in Control

One of the fallacies of human governments today is that they think they are in control. This, of course, is brought about by humanistic thinking that man is the master of his own destiny. Even though the problems which confront civilization today seem insurmountable, man is confident in his own ability to solve them and bring about a better world.

The Bible, however, gives us a different and more realistic perspective. It shows us that God is in control and that events in the world are unfolding according to His predetermined plan.

At a time of national unrest when the future of the nation of Judah seemed to be in the balance, the prophet Isaiah gave this word from God:

God is in Control“Remember this, and show yourselves men; recall to mind, O you transgressors. Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,’ Calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it” (Isaiah 46:8–11)

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10–11).

Although these words were spoken specifically about ancient kings – of Assyria, Babylon and Persia – who went about trying to accomplish their own desires, they give us a timeless insight into the fact that it is God who is really in control.

Israel - A Nation Reborn

About the time the writing of the Bible was completed, the Jews and their land had been separated. Just as the prophets of God had warned, they were scattered throughout the nations.

That’s why you’ll find Abrahams, Isaacs and Jacobs in most telephone directories – they are  descendants of people who once lived in the land of Israel.  For nearly 2000 years the Jewish people, who remained distinct and different wherever they lived, had no land they could call “home”.  But that was about to change.  For the very prophets who had predicted their dispersion also foretold their regathering, and there was more to it than that.  The prophets said that the scattered Jewish people would return to their land so that their long-awaited Messiah could come to rescue them and to save the world.  That was something faithful Jews have been awaiting for generations – a Messiah or Saviour who would come to deliver them.  But he has to come to Israel at a time when there are Jews in Jerusalem if the prophecies are to be properly fulfilled.  The trouble was that for over 1900 years there was no Jewish nation to save and there were hardly any Jews living in or near Jerusalem.

No Jewish nation – no Messiah!

All Change!

David ben GurionEverything changed in 1947 when the United Nations voted to partition Palestine and to create Jewish and Arab states. In May 1948 Israel was declared an independent state.  David ben Gurion, the first Prime Minister, referred to the circumstances that had led up to the decision of the United Nations:

  1. The Land of Israel, he said, was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped.  Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of Books.
  2. Their history of dispersion, though, he said, they never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration of their political freedom.
  3. Their attempts to resettle, the support they had already received, and now their acceptance by the United Nations among the nations of the world.
  4. The catastrophe which had recently befallen them – the massacre of millions of Jews in Europe – which clearly demonstrated the urgency of solving the problem of Jewish homelessness; Then he made this statement:
  5. I hereby declare the establishment of a Jewish state in the land of Israel to be known as the State of Israel … Israel will be open for Jewish immigration and for the ‘Ingathering of the Exiles’; it will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

World Events Herald Christ's RETURN

The Bible is a most remarkable book. Its account of the origin of evil; its unparalleled record of God's dealings with the nation of Israel; its searching message through their prophets; its "good news" proclaimed by Jesus Christ and his apostles; above all, its unerring analysis of the weaknesses of human nature and its contrasting portrayal of the holiness, the truth and the mercy of God, made especially plain in the person of His Son - all these are outstanding features found in no other book in the world. They prompted Henry Rogers over l00 years ago to declare: "The Bible is not such a book as man would have written if he could, nor could have written if he would."( In The Superhuman Origin of the Bible Deduced from Itself.) In other words, God is needed to explain its existence.

In this short article we shall consider one of the Bible's unique features: its prophecy. Now strictly prophecy is not just foretelling the future. A prophet was one who "spoke for" another, a spokesman; and prophecy was the message the prophet spoke on behalf of God. But since Bible prophecy contains quite a lot of "prediction", or foretelling future events, for our purpose here we shall take the term in that sense.

Who has the Power of Prophecy?

But first we must settle an important question: Does the Bible claim that the power of prophecy belongs only to God and is a proof of His authority?

To this there is a decisive answer in the prophecy of Isaiah. In the 41st chapter God challenges the idols and the idol worshippers of the day to prove that they possess divine powers.

This is how He does it:

"Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons,

saith the King of Jacob, Let them (the idols) bring them, (the reasons)

forth, and declare unto us what shall happen: declare ye the former

things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter

end of them; and shew us things to come ..." (vv.21-22,R.V.).

The basis of this challenge is clear: the pagan worshippers claim that their idols are gods. Very well; let them produce the proofs. And the proofs demanded by God Himself are that the idols shall announce future events, and also declare "the former things", that is, explain how creation took place in the beginning. The point is made crystal clear in the next verse:

"Declare the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that

ye are gods ..." (v.23).

Here God Himself is asserting that to be able to foretell the future would be a proof of Divine power. More than once in this part of Isaiah's prophecy, God declares that He is the only one who has this power, for only He is God; there is no other:

"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none

else; I am God , and there is none like me ..." (46:9)

The God of Israel is here declaring that there is no other worthy object of worship but Himself; and goes on to assert the signs of His power in these terms:

". . . declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times

things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will

do all my pleasure" (46:10).

Come to think of it, whoever would dare to say, "My counsel shall stand . . ." -except God? What man is there in the whole world who could say any such thing? To carry it out needs Someone who not only knows future events before they happen, but has the power to see that they take place as He has decreed. In other words, to utter prophecy which will inevitably come true, you need God. No other cause can explain it.

The New Testament makes the same claim. When Jesus was about to leave his disciples, he promised them the help of the Holy Spirit in their task of preaching the Gospel in the world. One of the effects of this gift was to be: "He shall declare unto you the things that are to come" (John 16:13); in other words, the disciples were to be given a knowledge of future events. It is certainly implied that without the special gift they could not have done this. Their ability to declare the future was to be an evidence of the Divine power they had been granted.

Again, in the last book of the Bible, chapter 1, verse 1, it is declared that God gave to Jesus Christ a revelation, "to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly come to pass . . ." (Revelation 1:1) . The knowledge of the future came from God through Jesus; without that revelation, His servants could have known nothing of it.

The conclusion is clear: the Bible says quite definitely that the power to foretell the future belongs to God alone.

Taken from a book written in 1868 called

Elpis (Hope of) Israel

The Hope of Israel

The Resurrection of Israel - The Second Exodus - the Millennium - "The End".

IN the previous chapters the reader has been conducted to the crisis that awaits the world at the conclusion of the time of the end. The two great powers of the day-namely, Gogue (the leader of Russia), the lord of the earth, and the Lion of Tarshish (Britain), the king of the sea, have been brought up in battle array in the region of the Dead Sea. This state of things will have been created by the angel of the sixth vial, whose province it is to gather the kings of the earth and of the whole habitable, with their armies, into the land of Israel, which is "the great winepress of the wrath of God (Rev 14:19,20) for a space of 200 miles. This will be brought about upon the same principles as the fulfilment of all other prophecies in ages past-namely, through the policy of "the powers that be," controlled by God. The insurrection of "the earth" in 1848 created a situation, in which the Roman question, the German question, and the Turco-Hungarian question, have become the elements of an inevitable war throughout Europe, which will terminate in the final destruction of the Austrian Empire and the Papacy, and the subjection of the Porte and the toe-kingdoms to the Autocrat.

But without some other element to complicate affairs, things might settle down into a mere substitution of one gigantic despotism for the many lesser ones that now exist. It is necessary, therefore, that some other ingredient be introduced into the mess, in order that the course of events may be directed into an eastern channel, by which the crisis may be transferred from Europe to the Holy Land. This political element is found in the commercial interests of Britain in India; in the importance of Syria, Palestine, and Egypt being in the possession of a friendly people to the preservation of those interests; and in the policy of colonizing Palestine with Jews, and so attaching them to the interests of the country by which they are protected. Thus the ascendancy of the Autocrat in Constantinople and the West, by the jeopardy in which it puts the commerce and dominion of the Lion-power, excites the British Government to the adoption of a policy which, in its application to emergencies as they arise, elaborates the restoration of the Jews, and the resuscitation of the East.

The restoration of Israel is a most important feature in the divine economy. It is indispensable to the setting up of the Kingdom of God; for they are the kingdom, having been constituted such by the covenant of Sinai, as it is written, "Ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation."  Israel began with a Promise(Exod. 19:6) The apostles understood this well enough, and so do all who understand the Gospel of the Kingdom. After his resurrection, Jesus conversed with them during forty days, "speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God." This was certainly long enough, under the instruction of such a teacher, to enable them to understand the subject well. It took possession of their minds and hearts, and created in them a desire for its immediate establishment. Hence, they put the question to him, saying, "Lord, wilt thou AT THIS TIME restore AGAIN the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:3,6)

It is evident from this, that they regarded Israel as having once possessed the kingdom, and expected the same Israel to possess it again. No other meaning can be put upon their words: for to restore a thing "again" to a party implies that they had once possessed it before. When Israel had the kingdom, they were ruled by Israelites, and not by Gentiles, for a foreigner could hold no office under their law. This was not the case in the days of the apostles, for they were ruled by the Roman Senate, and kings of its appointment. But it will not be so when the kingdom is restored to them again. The horns of the Gentiles will then be cast out of the land, and they will be ruled by "Israelites indeed" who will have become Jews by adoption; for no Jews or Gentiles after the flesh can have any part in the government of Israel and the Israelitish empire, which will embrace all nations, unless their Jewish citizenship is based upon a higher principle than natural birth. The flesh constitutes a Jew a subject of the kingdom, but confers on him no right to sit and rule upon the thrones of the house of David. This is reserved for Christ and his apostles, who "shall sit upon twelve thrones of his glory"; and for all other Jews and Gentiles who shall have become "Jews inwardly," for whom the dorninion under the whole heaven is decreed in the benevolence of God.

There are several strange fancies in the world concerning the restoration of the Jews. Some deny it in toto, and yet impose upon themselves the imagination that they believe the gospel of the kingdom! If any such have followed me through this work, they will, I think, long since have concluded that they have been in error. Others advance a little further, and regard it as an "open question" -- a position that may be disputed, but for which more may be said than against it, but concerning which they are not able to decide. This is tantamount to saying that the gospel is an open question, and that they really cannot say whether the kingdom of God will have subjects or not. There are others who believe that Israel will certainly be restored, but they clog it with a condition which in effect makes its fulfilment impossible, or eternally remote. They tell us that they will not be restored until they are converted to Christianity!

By Christianity they mean the inanity preached from the "sacred desks" of the apostasy -- the pulpit-gospels of the day; "for," say they, "if they abide not in unbelief they shall be grafted into their own olive again." This is quite true; but the fallacy consists in construing this to mean that their restoration is predicated on their believing what the Gentiles teach. The Gentiles themselves are in unbelief. How, then, can they convert the Jews? "Because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou, Gentile, standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear: for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee;" for "thou also shalt be cut off if thou continue not in his goodness" (Rom. 11:20-23). Both Jews and Gentiles are faithless in the gospel of the kingdom in the name of Jesus. The Jews believe one part of it, and the Gentiles another part of it, but even these several parts they adulterate with so many traditions, that neither Jews nor Gentiles believe anything as they ought. Therefore, as He broke off Israel by the instrumentality of the Romans, so He is now about to break off the Gentiles by the judgments soon to be poured out upon them.

The work of grafting Israel into their own olive belongs to God, who, as the scripture saith, "is able to graft them in again." No one, I presume, will dispute His ability. As I have shown elsewhere, He has assigned the work of restoration to the Lord Jesus, who will graft them in again upon a principle of faith. He will bring their unbelief to an end in a way peculiar to the emergency of the case. When the fulness of the Gentiles is come in, then Israel's blindness will be done away.

The restoration of the Jews is a work of time, and will require between fifty and sixty years to accomplish. When Gogue comes to be lord of Europe, like Pharaoh of old he will not permit Israel to remove themselves and their wealth beyond his reach. His dominion must, therefore, be broken before the north will obey the command to "give up," and the south to "keep not back"; and even then Israel must fight their way to Palestine as in the days of old.

The truth is, there are two stages in the restoration of the Jews, the first is before the battle of Armageddon; and the second, after it; but both pre-millennial. God has said, "I will save the tents of Judah first." This is the first stage of restoration. Jesus has already been "a stone of stumbling and rock of offence" to Judah and his companions for 40 years, that is from the day of Pentecost to the destruction of the temple, so that they need not to be subjected to a like process any more. But the word saith, "He shall be a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel" (Isaiah 8:14); now it is well known that this has not been fulfilled in relation to the ten tribes. They did not inhabit Canaan at the time Jesus sojourned and ministered there. The gospel of the kingdom has never been preached to them in his name; hence, they are only acquainted with him as they have heard of him by the report of Jesuits, and the priests of Gentile superstitions -- a report which is incapable of making men responsible for not believing.

The Destiny of the World

It may appear that we are masters of our own destiny; that we determine our own future and shape our own world. It may appear that there is no God; that there is no Divine intervention in human affairs and that the Bible is merely a crutch for the faint hearted.

Daniel 2 - The Authority of Bible Prophecy

Remarkably, Bible prophecy has foretold our future for 2,500 years and it reveals that the destiny of this world is something we have no control over at all. In fact, Bible prophecy is simply the mould into which history is poured.

The purpose of God, as far as the earth is concerned, is clearly revealed in a remarkable prophecy contained in Daniel chapter 2, which speaks not only of the destiny of the world, but also vindicates the authority of the Bible.

Daniel 2 speaks of a dreadful nightmare experienced by the most powerful monarch of the earth in those days, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, in the year 605 BC. Babylon was an immensely strong city which ruled over a great empire stretching from the Persian Gulf up through the Mesopotamian basin and down through Israel into Egypt.

Nebuchadnezzar had destroyed Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, and had taken many Jews captive, including the a man named Daniel who was a member of the royal household of Judah in Israel. Daniel was also an exceptional prophet whom God used to convey many prophecies of future events to take place on the earth.

Latest News in Bible Prophecy

WHY?  Well the short answer is because God has said it will be so, it is a matter of Bible Prophecy spoken some 3000 years ago!

Geopolitical alignments among the nations at the time of the end ie. before Christ Returns has been clearly revealed in the Bible.

Now for the long answer which comes from a study of Bible Prophecy.

To understand geopolitical alignments among the nations at the time of the end, we need first to understand who the King of the North and South is in Daniels Prophecy.

More than 2,500 years ago both the prophet Daniel and Ezekiel described worldwide events that would lead man to his final conflict in what is referred to in the Bible as the “battle of Armageddon”.  In describing the events that would lead to this last global conflict they foretold how the geopolitics of the nations will be divided in a north and south alliance around the nation of Israel.

This alliance means that Bible students have long expected Britain to leave the European Union,  and current events are fulfilling this Bible Prophecy before our very eyes.

Britain Close to Leaving the European Union

So let us look at what the Bible describes as the “King of the South” and a “King of the North”alliance in the last days.

This is what we read in Daniel 11:40-45

“And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him."

When the Bible describes geography like this ie. North and South it does so upon the land of Israel being at its centre.  The people of Israel “are His chosen people” who are a witness to His existence before all nations.

Deuteronomy 7:6   6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.”

Isaiah  41:10   10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, And my servant whom I have chosen: That ye may know and believe me, And understand that I am he: Before me there was no God formed, Neither shall there be after me.”

So who is this “King of the South and King of the North”?King of the North and King of the South in Bible Prophecy

Well in short the Bible reveals this to be Russia and the EU while the King of the South who challenges the King of the North’s invasion of Israel and Egypt is revealed to be “Tarshish with all the young lions…” thereof.

Below is a headline article that appeared in 2001 highlighting what was seen then as a dramatic change to global political alignments.  The 9/11 attacks on American soil and the worlds response to this was the catalyst in commencing this realignment of nations.  Whereas the World used to be geopolitically divided on a West versus East alignment highlighted by the so called Berlin Wall symbolising the Iron Curtain that communism had surrounded Eastern European countries with, the World is now moving more towards what the Bible described as a North versus South geopolitical alliance centred on Israel and Egypt and including the countries of the Arabian Peninsula.

The King of the North

The King of the North:

The King of the North is revealed in Ezekiel 38 as follows:

“Son of man, set thy face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and  Tubal, and prophesy against him…Persia, Ethiopia and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer and Togarmah in the uttermost parts of the north, and all his hordes: even many people’s with thee… And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days.”  Ezekiel 38:1-16

Map of the Nations named in Ezekiel 38 with the King of the North

It is said that the name Gog signifies a "roof" and therefore relates to "one at the top” or ‘powerful one’ or ‘one lifted up’.

This can have both a geographical and a political leadership connotation.

Here in Ezekiel 38 both aspects are applicable. It is used as a title for a great leader, a man of great political and military stature, and one who comes from "the top".

Ezekiel says that Gog is of the "uttermost parts of the north" or from the top, and if we were to draw a line on a map from Jerusalem it would point directly to Russia in the north.

However we are left in no doubt to the identity of this leader termed "Gog" by the description "the prince of Rosh" as the Revised Version renders the phrase "the chief prince".

The historian Josephus states: "Magog founded those that from him were named Magogites, but who are by the Greeks called Scythians," and  another Historian comments that the Scythians "spread from the River Tanais or Don, westward along the banks of the Ister or Danube" ‑ the area of central Europe incorporating Germany, Austria, Hungary etc...

The Prophet Daniel lived 2,500 years ago!

World History and Bible Prophecy

The purpose of God, as far as the earth is concerned, is clearly revealed in a remarkable prophecy contained in Daniel 2. Every confidence can be placed in it inasmuch as most of the prophecy has been fulfilled.

In a few verses, it outlines world history since the days of Daniel to the present, and on to the future.

Daniel the prophet was taken a captive to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar. That mighty Babylonian monarch had brought the whole world to his feet, and was concerned as to what might be the destiny of the empire he had established. God revealed the answer through a remarkable dream in which the king was shown the Divine plan of the ages.

The king, however, did not understand the dream. He sought the assistance of the "wise men of Babylon," and demanding as an evidence of their ability to correctly interpret it, that they first tell him the dream and then explain it. Naturally, they were unable to do this, and in his anger and disappointment, the king issued a royal edict against them, threatening them with death if they did not reveal the desired information within a given period.

Daniel was among those involved in this edict. He made his plight a matter of prayer. The God of Israel answered him, revealing the dream to the prophet, and making known to him its interpretation.

Armed with this knowledge, Daniel sought an audience with the king, and revealed unto him the desired information:

Nebuchadnezzar and world history"Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. The image's head was of fine gold, his breast and arms of silver, his belly and thighs of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon its feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them; and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth" (Dan. 2:31-35).

This was the dream as the king instantly recognized. Daniel continued by giving the interpretation. He showed that the four different metals of the image represented four world empires that would arise: the 10 toes represented a multiplicity of nations that would replace the fourth empire; and the stone which smote the image and completely destroyed and supplanted it, represented the Kingdom of God which shall be set up on earth, overthrowing the kingdom of men.

Here is Daniel's interpretation:

By Paul Billington

Anyone who understands the Gospel of the Kingdom (outlined in both Old and New Testaments) will appreciate the Truth that the true Messiah will at some point in time “restore again the kingdom to Israel” (Acts 1:6). Jesus of Nazareth said that this would also be the work of Elijah the prophet, who “truly shall first come, and restore all things (Matthew 17:11).

Now there are some consequences that arise from this which must directly affect the current Israeli-Palestinian tangle of circumstances.

Israel’s Return

For over a century, Jews have been migrating to the ancient homeland of their forefathers in fulfillment of the well known predictions of the Bible. The political developments which led to the formation of the modern State of Israel were not mere accidents of history. There is an unseen hand at work behind the scenes as it were—an underlying purpose being worked out; and that purpose will not fail. That is why, against all odds, Israel has survived all the attempts that have been made to drive her into the sea.

This nation has withstood many attacks—both politically as well as militarily. She has suffered many set-backs, has seen her people slain, hi-jacked and kidnapped—but she still lives; and she will continue to live until the purpose of God is fulfilled in her, and her kingdom restored.

Here then, is the first reason why the Palestinian objective cannot be realized.

Their ambitions are incompatible with the Good News or Gospel of the Kingdom.

According to this Gospel, Israel, the Jewish nation—the “house of Jacob”—must not only be revived physically and spiritually, but the throne of David is to be re-established and given to him “whose right it is” (Ezekiel 21:25-27); that is to the Messiah. This cannot be prevented, not by Palestinians, not by Arabs, Iranians, Europeans, Moslems or the combined forces of Christendom.

Preparing a People

Another reason why the Palestinians cannot gain the upper hand on any permanent basis, is because God has said of Israel through His prophet (Ezekiel 34:13, 14):

“And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.”

Israel and the Palestinain Issue

A Hamas Poster reads:

...But that objective cannot be realized.

It is incompatible with the Good News, or Gospel of the Kingdom.

So God has brought the children of Israel out from among the nations, and to their own land (including “the mountains of Israel”) because He intends to “feed” them there. It is not that God has simply brought the Jewish people to these mountains of Israel so that they may be scattered yet again—He intends to do something with them. As He says through the prophet Jeremiah: “Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Chapter 3:14-15).

It is difficult to see this spiritual education of the Jewish people proceeding effectively upon the mountains of Israel if a Palestinian state exists there! There is another circumstance that also suggests that there will not be a Palestinian state upon the mountains of Israel (the West Bank), and that is the fact that Ezekiel fails to notice one in his 38th chapter, which does describe a situation there “in the latter days” (verses 8 and 16). In fact, Ezekiel says that the people that are gathered there will “dwell safely.” The wording of verse 11 is very specific: “...the land of unwalled villages...them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates.”

This is a very different picture to what we see at present, with a Hamas terrorist leadership in control and Jewish settlers being abducted, shot at and expelled from their homes. Today it is a land of walls, bars, gates, check-points, unrest and lack of security. We can be sure that Ezekiel has not made a mistake however—if there are any Palestinians upon the mountains of Israel at the time he speaks of, they must have become very docile and tranquil. It suggests that by one means or another Israel will have overcome the Palestinian menace and none will make them afraid (Ezek. 39:26). In fact, a situation will have come into existence which will be conducive to the spiritual education or “feeding” that is to take place “upon the high mountains of Israel,” (Ezek. 34:14).

We must understand that Ezekiel 38 will not be fulfilled until after this pre-Armageddon phase of stability and preparation has been achieved, and teaching will have been proceeding—with some developing a measure of faith, whilst others continue to trespass as we read in Ezekiel 39:26.

Israel God's Witness To The WorldThe Prophecies Concerning Israel

These are the richest of all, both in the detail of their predictions and in the abundance of the historical confirmation of their truth. Here are the simple facts concerning Israel's remarkable destiny and the evidence this provides of Christ’s soon return to this earth.

The Old Testament records for us how God made distinct promises to Abraham (about 1800 B.C) which meant, among other things, that his descendants would become a people (Israel) who would take possession of the land of Canaan, later called Palestine. About 1400 BC the people of Israel were brought out of Egypt at the Exodus under Moses, and 40 years after began to take possession of the land promised to them. But while they were still in the wilderness, before they entered the land, they were solemnly warned by God through Moses of the fate which would overtake them if they turned away from their God to worship idols and imitated the ways of the pagan Canaanites. The 28th chapter of Deuteronomy is a most remarkable prophecy - and was a terrible warning - of the calamities which would come upon the Israelites if they were disobedient. The reader is recommended to read the whole chapter for himself. Here we have space only to outline the main features:

Who do you Trust - Nostradamus of the BIBLE?

NostradamusWhy is there renewed interest in Nostradamus and the Bible? And can we trust either to tell us what the future holds?

In the Aftermath of Horror

There have been many consequences of the events of September 11, from the galvanizing of the Middle East peace talks to a shortage of gas masks. More recently, acts of terrorism have become common place in Russia, Spain and the Middle East. Many people have tried to find answers to what these terrorist attacks mean for them on a personal level. Most notably sales of the prophetic writings of Nostradamus, and also of the Bible, have rocketed.

For the first time ever, "Nostradamus" became the most popular word entered in Internet search engines: "Robert Carroll, who runs the Skeptic's Dictionary Website, reported... 'I usually have about 300-400 hits a week on the Nostradamus entry. I've had 140,000 in the past three days'" (Roland White, The Sunday Times, 30.09.01)

Why, then, is there renewed interest in Nostradamus and the Bible? And can we trust either to tell us what the future holds?

Who was Nostradamus?

Michel de Notredame (Nostradamus)Michel de Notredame (Nostradamus) was born in 1503 to a French Jewish family who had converted to Christianity. He studied medicine and astronomy, and rose to fame when he gained a measure of success in treating plague victims in Aix and Lyons in 1546.

At the age of 44 he began to dabble in the popular art of prophecy, going on to write around 1200 short, four lined prophecies. Obviously these predictions must be fairly vague, as it is simply impossible to go into any degree of detail in just four lines.

Nostradamus gained much credibility when Catherine de Medici, wife of Henry II, believed that he had predicted her husband's death. His fame continues to escalate.

One of Nostradamus' Most Famous Prophecies

Most of Nostradamus' followers are united in their interpretations of the following prediction:

At night they will think that they have seen the sun,

When they see the pig-like half-man,

Noise, shouts, battles seen in the heavens:

Brute beasts will be heard speaking.

Just pause for a moment and ask yourself some specific questions about this prophecy:

  • Who is the message from?
  • Who is the message to?
  • For what reason is the message being given?
  • What does it mean?
