God's Plan for You

God's Plan for this World and You

THE view of planet earth, seen from outer space, is very beautiful indeed. Confirmation of this has come from the astronauts who have gazed upon it. The earth is the fairest jewel in God's creation and it is the chosen place in the whole universe where He has promised to reveal His Kingdom in all its glory. That is why it is so beautiful.

The earth, of all the planets in the solar system, is the one that is perfectly suited to all forms of life and the one that orbits at exactly the right distance from the sun to provide comfortable conditions for the human race.

Are mainstream Christian teachings correct?

The true Gospel can suffer from preconceived ideas and misinterpretations.

Find out what the Bible is actually saying and where interpretation can go wrong.

You owe it to yourself and your family to be sure of what it is you believe, the Apostle Paul has told us to "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling"  Philippians 2:12

What We Believe

True Bible Teaching fundamental beliefs are:

  1. The Bible is God's word and the only message from him. It is without error, except for copying and translation errors.
  2. There is only one God - the Father. The Holy Spirit is God's power.
  3. Jesus is the Son of God, and a human being, through his mother Mary.
  4. Man is mortal, having no existence when dead.
  5. By living a sinless life, ending with his sacrificial death by crucifixion, Jesus has opened the way of salvation from death.
  6. Belief and baptism are essential steps to salvation.
  7. God raised Jesus from death. Jesus is currently in Heaven, on God's right hand. He will one day return.
  8. When Jesus returns, he will raise his "sleeping" followers from death and grant immortality to the faithful who have tried to live by God's precepts.
  9. His followers will help him to rule, bringing justice, righteousness and peace to the whole world - the Kingdom of God.

Bible Truth

Truth Seeker - True Bible Teaching

The Bible is our only true source for the Truth!

If we claim to follow Christ we should trust in the Scriptures as confidently as Jesus and his Apostles did:

Jesus said that: The Scripture cannot be broken.  (John 10:35)

Paul said that: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Peter said that: For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21)

The things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven (1 Peter 1:12)

True faith must be founded on a fully inspired Bible.

God's Offer of LIFE or DEATH

“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.   See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him… This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life…"  Deuteronomy Chapter 30:12-20

From this passage we see how important it is to each one of us that we seek after God and His Word the Bible to us.

Without this we have no hope of LIFE, but only a future of DEATH.

This Word of God was originally given to the Nation of Israel and later it spread via the Apostles of Christ to the World, that even we today might have this same HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL.

It is UP to YOU then to seek out God’s Word, to KNOW what is the TRUTH of God’s Word so that you and your family might KNOW the way of LIFE ETERNAL and the great HOPE of living in God’s Kingdom on EARTH.

Do not let your HOPE rest upon others and most importantly on what others teach, search it out for yourself because we have been warned that the churches would be astray from God’s word in the last days.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”   2 Timothy 4:3-4

Too much is at stake for you to not act yourself to seek out the TRUTH.

Christ himself has told us to do this when he said…

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Godis a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

The Dinosaur Problem

T Rex Tissue Stumps Evolutionists

T-Rex Soft Tissue Disproves Evolution

Clip from “T.R.U.T.H. About the Dinosaurs” DVD

Is there something wrong when a supposedly 70 million-year-old tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur is found with soft tissue—including blood vessels and even whole cells? This is what a U.S. researcher reported in late March.  Biologist Mary Schweitzer discovered this soft tissue when it was necessary to break a T. rex’s huge thigh bone.

Schweitzer said that the vessels were flexible and some could even be squeezed. After extensive testing, there was confirmation that this T. rex bone even had hemoglobin (red blood cells).

This discovery is unexplained by evolutionary thinking, which suggests that millions and millions of years have passed since this “King of Dinos” met its demise. Schweitzer is puzzled and cannot understand why this bone was not mineralized. “It’s very amazing. It’s utterly shocking, actually, because it flies in the face of everything we understand about how tissues and cells degrade,” she said on MSNBC.

“It’s very amazing. It’s utterly shocking, actually….”

—Dr. Mary Schweitzer

In 1995, Joe Taylor, a professional dinosaur excavator and a biblical creationist, was curious about the hip girdle of another T. rex that was found in 1916. It was found in the same Hell Creek Formation where Schweitzer’s T. rex bone was found. Taylor was amazed that this 65 million-year-old specimen still had the appearance of skin on the sacral vertebrae. He sent a sample to Azusa Pacific College in California and had it scanned with an electron microscope by Professor Mark Armitage, who found that the bone had collagen filaments intact inside the bone. The presence of collagen suggests that this supposedly 65 million year old fossil was not completely fossilized. Armitage states, “It can’t be but a few thousand years old.”

So the Theory of Evolution is just that ‘A Theory’ that has never been proved and evidence like this says it can’t be and isn’t true.

Bible Prophecy Provides Evidence That God Exists For All To SEE

The False Prophet Croaking out his frog spirit

A review of the Popes speech to the European Parliament in the light of Bible prophecy"And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of..."

On Tuesday the 25th of November 2014 an historic moment occurred in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Pope Francis addressed the leaders of Europe displaying the power and influence the Catholic church has at the heart of Europe.

The Pope Addresses The European Parliament

As is typical of the approach of Pope Francis, his address was not controversial or aggressive. His genteel mannerisms, positive ecumenical messages, cheerful smile and friendly charisma have served him well at the start of his reign and helped him earn the prestigious title of man of the year for 2013. These hallmark characteristics were used to great effect as the Pope addresses Europe's top brass.

The very fact that this religious leader is able to influence the leaders of Europe in this way, helping to give them advice and exhortation, shows the great authority the Church has in the heights of power in Europe. No other religious leader has been given such a privilege as the papacy. Most of Europe's leaders are self proclaimed Catholics, most belonging to so called Christian Democrat parties (like Angela Merkel) and so to them it must actually be surprising they don't have the Pope speak more often, seeing that he is supposed to be God's representative on earth. His words will certainly not have gone ignored by the fervent Catholic faithful amongst the leaders he addresses.

Pope Francis addresses the European Parliament 25th November 2014

Pope Francis addresses the European Parliament (image source: ctvnews)

The content of his address is most interesting to consider. The Vatican radio reported this summary:
"Pope Francis called on a “haggard” and “lonely” Europe to recover its role as a world protagonist, its identity as a defender of the transcendent dignity of man, the poor, the migrant, the persecuted, the old and the young, to recover its soul: Christianity."

For anyone who has studied the history of the Church during the dark ages, this summery of the content of the Popes speech will resound with the echoes of hypocrisy. The pope asks Europe to consider the persecuted. Consider the persecution of Protestants and Jews of ages past which suffered so cruelly at the hands of the Catholic inquisition. Was Europe a defender of the transcendent dignity of man as it watched people being burnt at the stake for owning an English Bible? The Pope asks Europe to consider the poor having travelled from The Vatican, one of the most prestigious buildings in the world, whilst in Rome, a few miles away, there are very poor communities of people suffering. the key point reported though is that the Pope wanted Europe to recover its soul. Christianity. By this of course he means The Catholic version of Christianity. A Christianity so far removed from the truth of the Bible it is barely recognisable. It is in his interest to push this concept for in ages past the Papacy enjoyed much more power than it does now as it was part of the political powers of Europe and not simply a religion. the papacy lost this temporal power in the 1800s and has been working slowly but surely to try and regain it. It has come someway but it in no way enjoys the tyrannical power it once had (thankfully we might add). The leadership of Europe from a religious perspective though is something the Pope pushed. Here are a few extracts:

"I consider to be fundamental not only the legacy that Christianity has offered in the past to the social and cultural formation of the continent, but above all the contribution which it desires to offer today, and in the future, to Europe’s growth.  This contribution does not represent a threat to the secularity of states or to the independence of the institutions of the European Union, but rather an enrichment.  This is clear from the ideals which shaped Europe from the beginning, such as peace, subsidiarity and reciprocal solidarity, and a humanism centred on respect for the dignity of the human person.

I wish, then, to reiterate the readiness of the Holy See and the Catholic Church, through the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of Europe (COMECE), to engage in meaningful, open and transparent dialogue with the institutions of the European Union.   I am likewise convinced that a Europe which is capable of appreciating its religious roots and of grasping their fruitfulness and potential, will be all the more immune to the many forms of extremism spreading in the world today, not least as a result of the great vacuum of ideals which we are currently witnessing in the West, since “it is precisely man’s forgetfulness of God, and his failure to give him glory, which gives rise to violence”.

The pope is here reminding the leaders of Europe of the statement written into law in the Lisbon treaty that Europe has to work with the Church. He dresses it up in nice words but the bottom line is he is asking for MORE influence in the direction Europe takes. This is exactly what we would expect from Bible prophecy.

Declawing the Russian Bear?

Putin vows Russia will not content itself to sit back with a pot of honey.

Analysts worry the West's attempts at declawing the Russian bear may provoke an angry response, the Bible clearly indicates Russia's future actions.

This week saw Russian President Vladimir Putin defend his country's position in his annual New Year’s press conference. During his discussion he brought up the analogy of the Russian bear:

The Russian Bear as portrayed by the press

Putin remarked that Russia's bear will not allow itself to be declawed.

"Sometimes I think maybe it would be better for our bear to sit quietly, rather than chasing around the forest after piglets. To sit eating berries and honey instead. Maybe they will leave it in peace," Putin said.

"They will not. Because they will always try to put him on a chain, and as soon as they succeed in doing so, they tear out his fangs and his claws."

"Once they've taken out his claws and his fangs, then the bear ... (will) become a stuffed animal," he said. "The issue is not Crimea. The issue is that we are protecting our sovereignty and our right to exist."

Putin defiant in his New Year's speech

"The president also insisted Russia's economy and the ruble would quickly recover Putin defiant in his New Year's speechfrom the current crisis. In opening remarks, he acknowledged that the ruble could slide further because of falling oil prices and warned that spending cuts might be necessary — but said the economy would return to growth in two years.

Putin went on to defend Russia’s position over the Ukraine, as the Associated Press reported:

Putin denied Russia was embarking on a new Cold War. "The only thing we've done is protecting our interests in a tougher way," he said. "We're not aggressive. We're not attacking anyone in the political sense of the word."

The scriptures indicate something different is going to eventually happen.

The Price of Oil and the Russian Economy

As analysts around the world watch the current economic crisis in Russia, they link it to the drop in world oil prices and to the sanctions being placed on Russia by the West and Europe.

Putin was reported by the Associate Press as stating that 25% of Russia's economic crisis — including its faltering currency — was caused by sanctions imposed following the annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region.

One might think that Putin would be down in popularity with the direction he has taken the country in, but this is not the case. AP reported,

"Putin is enjoying historically high poll ratings. Associated Press-NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research poll released Thursday found that about 80 percent of Russians still support him — an increase compared to 2012."

This is way more than President Obama can boast, with approval ratings running around 48 percent at the end of December, according to a Gallup poll.

Russia to be driven to desperate measures

However, analysts around the world are concerned that Russia will be driven to desperate measures as the economic noose tightens.

The Associated Press reported in January,

"Once an economy luxuriating in a cornucopia of oil and gas revenues, the collapse of world oil prices in 2014 has left Russia suddenly vulnerable. Added to that is the effect of Western sanctions against Russia for its annexation of Crimea and its support for separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine. Most painfully, the sanctions deny Russian businesses access to Western credit markets. The ruble also lost about 45 percent of its value against the dollar in 2014."

There are real concerns that if prices of oil continue to fall, Russia will become desperate. Australia’s International Business Times reported on January 3rd, 2015 :

"According to Reuters, Russian authorities believe that the country can still make it through 2015 if the price of crude oil, Russia's main export driver, will remain near current levels. However, economists think that even at the current price of $60 per barrel, the oil price is only a little more than half of what Moscow needs to balance the budget. The Kremlin is quickly losing money.

WORLD PEACE and World Progress?

WORLD PEACE and World Progress

What a shock the events of the last 100yrs have been! The dream of progress and peace has faded. Two terrible world wars with countless regional wars, millions of slain and untold damage and suffering, have been followed by the development of the mostly frightfully destructive weapons ever invented.

The varying solutions in which the "wise men" of this world have trusted in have all been exposed as false.

Despite greater education there has not been any higher moral standards displayed by the world at large, in fact the opposite would be more true, widespread growth in dishonesty, greed, violence and crime.

The Christian religion, far from converting the nations, is in decline all over the earth.

Democracy in politics has not proved the magic cure for social evils that was expected.

Finally - cruellest blow of all - science has proved a frighteningly double-edged weapon.

Far from being an era of peace, this "civilised" last century has become an age of strife and violence. No wonder the attitude of so many people is one of pessimistic resignation.

Furthermore there seems little any one can do.

Now what has Bible prophecy to say about all this?

It has a clear forecast of the "last days", "the time of the end", when the career of mankind in the earth will come to a critical point. It is not a picture of continuing progress and peace, but rather of world in trouble and fear. The clearest and most striking example of this is found in what Jesus says to his disciples, when they asked him what would be the sign of his return to the earth and of "the end of the world". He tells them first about the fate of the Jewish people:

“They (the Jews) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles (the nations), until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24).

He went on to provide a number of signs to these last times of trouble;

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;  Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:25-28)

Soldiers of WAR

The prophet Isaiah was inspired to write these words more than 2500 years ago:

“He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore” (Isaiah 2:4)

In our world of wars and rumours of wars the idea that no one would even understand the concept of violence seems like a dreamy comment from someone who does not live in the real world of the 21st century. Yet men have dreamed of the idea of real peace for all for millennia, even whilst recognising that it is most unlikely to ever happen.

The First World War poet, Wilfred Owen, was one such man. He knew his Bible well but in one of his most famous poems “Strange Meeting” he wrote of war and peace with a sad recognition that a world without war or violence was unlikely:

The pity of war, the pity war distilled. Now men will go content with what we spoiled, Or, discontent, boil bloody, and be spilled. They will be swift with swiftness of the tigress. None will break ranks, though nations trek from progress.

Courage was mine, and I had mystery, Wisdom was mine, and I had mastery: To miss the march of this retreating world Into vain citadels that are not walled.

Then, when much blood had clogged their chariot-wheels, I would go up and wash them from sweet wells, Even with truths that be too deep for taint.

It’s a hundred years since that war in which Owen fought and died. Sadly, he was killed just four days before its conclusion. It was a war which changed the world forever, which is why it has been featured in so many media programmes and other events, 100 years on.

It was not merely the scale of it with up to 21 million soldiers and civilians being killed and maimed (depending on which statistics are used). Neither was it the gigantic industrial scale on which countries organised and prosecuted the war. It was, rather, the loss of innocence on the extent of what one human can and will do to another in given circumstances.

Moral Compass

I believe this to be an event in which the moral compass of the world, for it was a world war, changed forever. When 20,000 men can be killed in ten minutes even civilians have to understand the horrific and continuing nature of what man develops. The legion of caring and heroic stories that accompanied the slaughter barely begin to balance the depth of violence that individuals and countries will perpetrate in the name of patriotism or even in the name of God – a God who commands us not to kill but to “love our enemies”.

The REAL Armageddon - What the Bible Says

By Matt Davies from

The REAL Armageddon - What the Bible Says

The world is on the brink of crisis. One only has to look at the situation in the Middle East with the rise of ISIS and the gathering of the nations for war, to see how volatile and finely balanced things are. Many consider current events as depressing, but as True Bible Students we look into the mess the world is in and gain great encouragement as we see many signs that Jesus is soon to return to bring about an era of peace, tranquillity and righteousness.

How is it that we can be sure that we are living in the days which are preceding the return of Christ? One of the huge signs the Bible speaks of is to do with the nation of Israel.

Bible Prophecy and Israel

Back at the time of Moses, around 1400BC the Bible records how that God chose Israel, from all the nations of the world, to outwork His purpose. He gave them a special national law. This law had consequences though if it was broken. This is what God's law stated in Deuteronomy 28:15 and 63-65:

“…if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God… all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:.. …and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it. And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other... And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:”

So if the people of Israel turned their back on the ways of God they would be scattered from that land. This is exactly what happened in the events around AD70 when the Roman armies destroyed Jerusalem and dispersed the Jews from the land of Israel.

Jesus Christ, a Jew himself, warned the Jews of his day who were living just before their dispersion by the Romans of their impending scattering:

"And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh…  there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” Luke 21:20-24

However God still has a purpose with his chosen people of Israel. This is what the prophet Hosea says, by inspiration of God, in Hosea 3:4-5

“For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return… in the latter days.”

So although there would be no royal rulership and no religious rituals practiced by the nation in their dispersion, eventually they would return - in a time period called in the Bible "The Latter Days". As Jesus says "until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled".

Bible Students were waiting for this

Many Bible students looked forward to this event. One such Bible student was the famous Physicist and Mathmatician, Sir Isaac Newton. Newton was an avid Bible student and in his notes entitled “An Interpretation of the Prophecy of Daniel’s weeks by Jewish years.” he wrote:

Preparation of the Russian Dragon

The Re-Christianization of Russia, long looked for by Bible Students, is evident in the news today.

Russian Emblem showing the rider on the horse slaying the dragonRussia is the latter day Dragon of Revelation described as working in concert with Europe and the Papacy in bringing the nations to Armageddon. It's activity is also described in the prophets who paint a picture of religious entity in the latter days. Bible students have looked for this for years, and now a religious revival is being witnessed in the news.

As the world recoils in horror at the spreading of ISIS’ influence, and the western nations are dragged back into their protectorate role in the Middle East, Russia is also being shaped and moulded to fit its role in the latter day.

Development of the Dragon

Russia is the successor to the pagan Roman dragon of the book of Revelation. The dragon is found in chapter 12 where a drama unfolds.  In this chapter a picture is painted of a woman, a dragon and a manchild.

The woman who brings forth the manchild, is apostate Christendom. Paul had said that the body of believers was supposed to remain faithful to Christ:

“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:2)

In Revelation 12 the woman is not a chaste virgin, but found pregnant with child:

“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” (Revelation 12:1–2)

The dragon appears on the scene and is was poised to destroy the man-child:

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” (Revelation 12: 3)

This dragon is a further development of Daniel’s 4th beast, which equates with the Roman empire. The Roman Empire is not successful in destroying the development of political Christendom as the symbolic narrative describes:

“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.” (Revelation 12:5)

Christendom became enthroned in the political heavens of the Roman Empire at the hands of Constantine the Great in 312 AD when adopting the Christian God and marshalling the forces of Christendom he defeated the Pagan emperor, casting Pagan Rome out of power:

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:9)

However the dragon still existed as a military force who would go on to persecute remnants of Christendom which didn’t fall in line with Constantine’s religious views, nor submit to his authoritarian power:

“And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.” (Revelation 12:13)

And again in verse 17:

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 12:17)

The dragon does not disappear, but rather becomes the military power behind the empire, lending its authority to the rise of the next empire. It is found in chapter 13 when the successor to Pagan Rome, the Christian Roman Empire arose. It began in AD 312 and would continue until finally replaced in AD 799 by the Holy Roman Empire. We read how it gave its power to this Christian Empire:

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” (Revelation 13:1–2)

Constantine split the empire into two halves in 330AD, creating a second capital in Constantinople where which would rule over the Eastern Empire, (eventually to become known as the Byzantine Empire lasting until 1453AD), while the Western Roman Empire, ruled from Rome, would last only a short time until 493AD.

“...his number is 666”

666 The Mark or Number of the BeastEUROPE and THE ROMAN CONNECTION

Since the days of the third century A.D. there has been perennial fascination with the Biblical number 666. It occurs in Revelation 13:18 and reads:

“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

A Waste of Time

Anyone with an hour to waste on surfing the net will soon discover literally dozens of “imaginative” (“foolish” would be a better word!) ideas as to what 666 means, or to whom it refers. It has been a central topic of many a making millions of dollars for their authors.

Some intellectuals, displaying greater mathematical and linguistic skills than simple common sense, have lifted the number completely out of its context and identified it with their own name, that of their favourite

author, their credit card identification number or even with the title of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf!

All this senseless speculation, however, totally overlooks the context in which the verse occurs, and to what the number is related. It is in fact a symbol of the continuing power of Rome in its varying forms from the days of Christ onwards. Revelation 13 expands on the prophecies given by Daniel in his 7th chapter

concerning world powers which are portrayed as beasts. The Fourth Beast of Daniel chapter 7 metamorphoses over a long period from the times of the Roman empire through to today, and as verse 21 makes clear, it will still be in existence in one form or another when Christ returns. Thus Revelation 13 takes up the theme and traces the evolution of the powers which followed on from the ancient Empire of Rome.

As the simplest history book will show, the power of Rome passed first to Charlemagne in aboutThe Signing of the Treaty of Rome 1957 800 AD and thereafter in the Middle Ages to the Holy Roman Empire in Central Europe. This has now been superseded by the European Union of today which significantly enough was founded by the Treaty of Rome in 1957. The growing power over individual freedom by the European Union is concerning many politicians and it   constitutes a potentially serious threat to the traditional rights of freedom of speech and religious expression.

Tony Blair’s proposed legislation, intended to deal with Muslim extremism, will clearly infringe the rights of many Protestants to protest as aggressively as they have done in the past against the growing power of Roman Catholicism.

“the number (666) is... a symbol of the continuing power of Rome in its varying forms from the days of Christ onwards.”

666 is the Number of a Beast!

The point so often missed when attempting to identify what is meant by 666 is the careful way in which Revelation 13:18 is worded.

The power and influence of the Catholic Church in Europe

This article by will examine the power and influence of the Catholic Church in Europe and the part it has to play in the dramatic events before the return of Christ.

The Pope to Address the European Parliament

It was announced on Sunday 21st September 2014 that Pope Frances will be addressing the European Parliament on November 25th of this year.

The following is from an article on the Catholic News Service:
"In visiting the parliament, the pope will be accepting an invitation made by Schultz during a visit to the Vatican in October 2013. "The decision to come to Strasbourg before visiting any individual EU member state as such gives a strong signal that the pope supports and encourages the pursuit of European integration and unity," said a statement by German Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich and Freising, president of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community. "We hope that the Holy Father will encourage European parliamentarians in their work and that he will indicate how the foundational values of the Union -- inspired to a large degree by the Christian faith -- may Pope Francisshape the Europe of tomorrow."

Consider the power the Pope has here. No other religious leader can address political leaders in this way and it is significant to remember that many of the European politicians subscribe to the Catholic religion.

A mission begun long ago

The Catholic church has long been behind the gradual unification of Europe in it's dream to help re-establish the Holy Roman Empire of old where it enjoyed a high level of authority and power. It has strived to revive this since it was stripped of its power in the 1800's.

It was back in 1975 when addressing the bishops of Rome that the then Pope, Pope John Paul the 4th clearly stated “Can it not be said that it is faith, the Christian faith, the Catholic faith that made Europe? It is there that our mission as bishops of Europe takes a gripping perspective. No other human force in Europe can render the service that is confided to us, promoters of the faith to re-awaken Europe's Christian soul, where its unity is rooted”.

This sentiment was echoed by John Paul II’s successor, Pope Benedict XVI, who quoted and reinforced this statement in a speech held on 24th July 2005.

Earlier this year on 27th of May whilst addressing Italian workers this same Papal terminology was again regurgitated by the current Pope, Pope Francis:

"What can we say, when faced with the very serious problem of unemployment that affects various European countries?… This great challenge requires the involvement of the Christian community as a whole … The first challenge is to revive the roots of faith and of our adhesion to Jesus Christ”

The Catholic church has long been campaigning for the unification of Europe. This mission is well underway as we have seen in recent years the gradual unification of European power. From the outside it might seem that this has been done purely on a political basis but it is clear when one looks at the facts that the European Union is steered slowly but surely by it’s religious backbone. The Catholic church who behind the scenes is guiding The European Union for its own interests.

This is exactly what we would expect to see as we near the end of gentile times.

The West Scrambles to Contain Russia

The current character of Russia is predicted in the Bible.

Article from Bible In The News

Russian tanks and heavy armour move across the border into eastern Ukraine, accompanied by Putin's denials of involvement and what would clearly be considered as threats of nuclear war. In the last few days the rebels in control of areas of eastern Ukraine have made significant advances, as reported in the UK Telegraph, "...dramatically turning the tide in the four-month conflict." The article entitled, "Vladimir Putin: Don't mess with nuclear-armed Russia" continues:

Putin - A Gogian style leader fulfilling Bible ProphecyPutin speaks to a group of Russian youngsters on August 29, where he said,

"it's best not to mess with us," adding "I want to remind you that Russia
is one of the leading nuclear powers".

"A major battle is expected in the port city of Mariupol in coming days, where Ukrainian forces are dug in in anticipation of a full-scale assault by rebels backed by the Kremlin's forces.

The escalation in the conflict is the most serious since the pro-Russian uprising began, and has dashed Western hopes that the sanctions on the Kremlin had forced it to gradually abandon its support for the rebels."

NATO has told Russia to halt 'illegal' actions in Ukraine and European leaders are meeting today at an emergency summit to discuss more sanctions on Moscow. However it is doubtful that any of these measures will have an immediate effect. The northern hemisphere is heading towards fall and winter and Putin is looking forward to the cold temperatures. As reported by the Telegraph, Russia has said there is a 'high risk' for gas deliveries to Europe this winter.

The EU has always planned for Russia to be an essential part of the European project. Russia also sees itself as being part of Europe, but not on equal terms as a member state. The events in Ukraine are at the root of a greater struggle which will determine who will dominate Europe. What role and influence will Germany, France, the Vatican, Russia and the Russian Greek Orthodox Church have in the emerging European Empire? Putin's remarks about a nuclear-armed Russia, a day before the European leaders emergency summit are timed to send a very strong message. Europe has to deal with Russia. Locking the Russian bear in a cage and starving it, will not work.

In the Canadian National Post, Kelly McParland comments about Putin's czarist fantasies.

"Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is proving far more reckless than previously imagined in his determination to have his way in Ukraine, exhibiting a level of cynicism and contempt for international law that few could have anticipated."

As far as Putin is concerned his "czarist fantasies" are not fantasies at all and he intends to make sure of that. Returning to the article from the UK Telegraph.

"Vladimir Putin raised the spectre of nuclear war with the West on Friday as he defied international condemnation over his decision to send thousands of Russian troops and heavy armour into Ukraine.

"Accused by Europe and Nato of launching a full-scale invasion of eastern Ukraine, the Russian leader boasted to a group of Russian youngsters that "It's best not to mess with us."

"In language not seen since the height of the Cold War, he told his audience: "Thank God, I think no one is thinking of unleashing a large-scale conflict with Russia. I want to remind you that Russia is one of the leading nuclear powers."

"Mr Putin's comments, made during a visit to a pro-Kremlin youth camp on the banks of a lake outside Moscow, will horrify Western governments as they try to bring Russia into check. Even during the height of Cold War hostilities, few Kremlin leaders ever resorted to the direct mentions of Russia's nuclear arsenal.

"He made his remarks as European leaders prepare to gather for an emergency summit to discuss further sanctions on Moscow over the appearance in the last few days of more than 1,000 regular Russian troops in eastern Ukraine."

The rising power and character of Russia and its leader are not a surprise to students of Bible prophecy. When the "moderate" Russian leader Gorbachev was in power things seemed like they would be different. There were great changes in Russian policy, the Berlin wall came down and the Russian economy was in tatters. During this time, in the annual "Milestones to the Kingdom", booklet in 1989, in a consideration of Ezekiel 38, Graham Pearce wrote:

God’s Witnesses

Israel - God's Witnesses to the World that He Exists and has a Purpose with Mankind

"Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that Iam he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I,even I,am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour."  Isaiah 43:10-11

Impartial witnesses can be a crucial source of evidence for situations, like serious accidents, where it is important to establish what actually happened. Nonetheless it is not always easy to get witnesses to come forward, and so it can be difficult to corroborate the claims made by people involved in an incident.

Only One God

The Bible makes very bold claims about God and contains some striking assertions about what He is like.

Here’s one:

"I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, that they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other" (Isaiah 45:5–6).

Claims are one thing, of course, and proof is another. As no one has ever seen God (John 1:18), many people believe that there is no evidence for His existence.

Such people do not believe in any God, let alone in the unique God who is revealed in the Bible.

Evidence for God

However, the God of the Bible has provided evidence to support His claims and He has witnesses who  testify to both His existence and His purpose. This is what God says to them when He summons them:

Israel - God's Witnesses"Do not fear, nor be afraid; have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one. Those who make an image, all of them are useless, and their precious things shall not profit; they are their own witnesses; they neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed" (Isaiah 44:8–9).

This argument is repeated in more detail in Isaiah 43:9-13. God’s witnesses are the Jews, and God was saying, through His prophet, that their history makes them witnesses to His claims about Himself. For God has both made and kept promises to them and has foretold what is to happen to them in careful detail. Moreover, He stated that no other god has such witnesses and, referring to those who worship idols instead, that such things are not real gods at all.

Unwitting Witness

The Jewish people are very powerful witnesses indeed because they have not volunteered to fill this role and may not even realise that they are carrying it out. Their witness is not directly under their control or their wishes. They are, therefore, most certainly impartial.
