God's Plan for You

God's Plan for this World and You

THE view of planet earth, seen from outer space, is very beautiful indeed. Confirmation of this has come from the astronauts who have gazed upon it. The earth is the fairest jewel in God's creation and it is the chosen place in the whole universe where He has promised to reveal His Kingdom in all its glory. That is why it is so beautiful.

The earth, of all the planets in the solar system, is the one that is perfectly suited to all forms of life and the one that orbits at exactly the right distance from the sun to provide comfortable conditions for the human race.

Are mainstream Christian teachings correct?

The true Gospel can suffer from preconceived ideas and misinterpretations.

Find out what the Bible is actually saying and where interpretation can go wrong.

You owe it to yourself and your family to be sure of what it is you believe, the Apostle Paul has told us to "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling"  Philippians 2:12

What We Believe

True Bible Teaching fundamental beliefs are:

  1. The Bible is God's word and the only message from him. It is without error, except for copying and translation errors.
  2. There is only one God - the Father. The Holy Spirit is God's power.
  3. Jesus is the Son of God, and a human being, through his mother Mary.
  4. Man is mortal, having no existence when dead.
  5. By living a sinless life, ending with his sacrificial death by crucifixion, Jesus has opened the way of salvation from death.
  6. Belief and baptism are essential steps to salvation.
  7. God raised Jesus from death. Jesus is currently in Heaven, on God's right hand. He will one day return.
  8. When Jesus returns, he will raise his "sleeping" followers from death and grant immortality to the faithful who have tried to live by God's precepts.
  9. His followers will help him to rule, bringing justice, righteousness and peace to the whole world - the Kingdom of God.

Bible Truth

Truth Seeker - True Bible Teaching

The Bible is our only true source for the Truth!

If we claim to follow Christ we should trust in the Scriptures as confidently as Jesus and his Apostles did:

Jesus said that: The Scripture cannot be broken.  (John 10:35)

Paul said that: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Peter said that: For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21)

The things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven (1 Peter 1:12)

True faith must be founded on a fully inspired Bible.

God's Offer of LIFE or DEATH

“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.   See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him… This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life…"  Deuteronomy Chapter 30:12-20

From this passage we see how important it is to each one of us that we seek after God and His Word the Bible to us.

Without this we have no hope of LIFE, but only a future of DEATH.

This Word of God was originally given to the Nation of Israel and later it spread via the Apostles of Christ to the World, that even we today might have this same HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL.

It is UP to YOU then to seek out God’s Word, to KNOW what is the TRUTH of God’s Word so that you and your family might KNOW the way of LIFE ETERNAL and the great HOPE of living in God’s Kingdom on EARTH.

Do not let your HOPE rest upon others and most importantly on what others teach, search it out for yourself because we have been warned that the churches would be astray from God’s word in the last days.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”   2 Timothy 4:3-4

Too much is at stake for you to not act yourself to seek out the TRUTH.

Christ himself has told us to do this when he said…

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Godis a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

The Dinosaur Problem

T Rex Tissue Stumps Evolutionists

T-Rex Soft Tissue Disproves Evolution

Clip from “T.R.U.T.H. About the Dinosaurs” DVD

Is there something wrong when a supposedly 70 million-year-old tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur is found with soft tissue—including blood vessels and even whole cells? This is what a U.S. researcher reported in late March.  Biologist Mary Schweitzer discovered this soft tissue when it was necessary to break a T. rex’s huge thigh bone.

Schweitzer said that the vessels were flexible and some could even be squeezed. After extensive testing, there was confirmation that this T. rex bone even had hemoglobin (red blood cells).

This discovery is unexplained by evolutionary thinking, which suggests that millions and millions of years have passed since this “King of Dinos” met its demise. Schweitzer is puzzled and cannot understand why this bone was not mineralized. “It’s very amazing. It’s utterly shocking, actually, because it flies in the face of everything we understand about how tissues and cells degrade,” she said on MSNBC.

“It’s very amazing. It’s utterly shocking, actually….”

—Dr. Mary Schweitzer

In 1995, Joe Taylor, a professional dinosaur excavator and a biblical creationist, was curious about the hip girdle of another T. rex that was found in 1916. It was found in the same Hell Creek Formation where Schweitzer’s T. rex bone was found. Taylor was amazed that this 65 million-year-old specimen still had the appearance of skin on the sacral vertebrae. He sent a sample to Azusa Pacific College in California and had it scanned with an electron microscope by Professor Mark Armitage, who found that the bone had collagen filaments intact inside the bone. The presence of collagen suggests that this supposedly 65 million year old fossil was not completely fossilized. Armitage states, “It can’t be but a few thousand years old.”

So the Theory of Evolution is just that ‘A Theory’ that has never been proved and evidence like this says it can’t be and isn’t true.

Bible Prophecy Provides Evidence That God Exists For All To SEE

Brexit, Tarshish and the ‘Chequers’ plan

Brexit and EU

Brexit is set to happen on the 29th March 2019 but there are frantic attempts to keep some sort of deal in place with the EU. Scared by the unknowns of a world outside of the EU some in the British leadership are doing all they can to keep as attached as possible to Europe.

The scriptures of truth have outlined the destiny of Britain in the latter days and it is not part of the political or close economic union that the EU demands. The separation cannot be stopped.

Ezekiel 38

In the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 and 39 that God compelled his prophet, Ezekiel, to pen almost 2600 years ago, we read of the state of the world of our day. The prophecy has to do with the time when the Jews have returned to their land after a period of dispersion (v8 and v12). This time period can be said to of begone from 1948 onwards - after the state of Israel was declared and the Jews began consistently returning.

Two power blocks of nations are listed. One block antagonistic to Israel in verses 1-6 and one block seemingly sympathetic to Israel in v13.

The prophecy speaks of a great invasion of Israel before God finally acts. When harmonised with other prophecies it can be seen that this great crisis heralds the return of Jesus to the earth.

Antagonistic Nations

In the antagonistic block of nations, we have listed the names of the ancient peoples of Europe along with North African and Far Eastern peoples.

Of particular note is the nation called “Gomer” and one called “Magog”.

The ancient historian Josephus, who lived about 600 years after Ezekiel, placed Gomer and the "Gomerites" in the area of Western Galatia. He wrote: "For Gomer founded those whom the Greeks now call Galatians, but were then called Gomerites."

It’s interesting to note that in the Greek the name “Galatia” refers to the area of Gaul. Diodorus Siculus records how this came about when speaking about an ancient leader called Galates:

“Becoming renowned for his bravery he (Galates) called his subjects Galatae or Gauls after himself, and these, in turn, gave their name to all of Galatea or Gaul” Diodorus Siculus (approx 50AD).

We know from history that Gaul was a region of Western Europe during the Iron Age and before. It encompassed present-day France, Luxembourg, Belgium, most of Switzerland, Northern Italy, as well as the parts of the Netherlands and Germany on the west bank of the Rhine.

This area clearly relates then to Western Europe.

The other nation to note is that of ‘Magog’ mentioned in Ezekiel 38:2 and 39:6. Again, the Jewish historian Josephus writes the following about this nation:
“Magog founded those that from him were named Magogites, but who are by the Greeks called Scythians.” (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1:6:1, c. 94 AD).

But where was Sythia? The Greek historian Herodotus lists eight rivers which went through Sythia - all of these rivers are in Eastern Europe. They stretch from the river “Ister” (the modern-day river ‘Danube’ which originates in Germany) to the river “Tanais” (the modern-day river ‘Don’ in Russia). See Herodotus, Histories, Book 4:46-47, c. 400 BC).

“Magog” then is the territory covering modern-day Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine and even parts of Western Russia. This is a description of Western Europe.

Combining the mention of the peoples of Gomer and Magog then we pretty much have the whole of the peoples of the EU.

The Man of Sin Prophecy

In August 2018 there was a Papal visit to Ireland and in this article we look at Bible prophecy about a mysterious “Man of Sin” and how this connects to the institution of the Papacy.

Pope Man of Sin in IrelandThe man of sin

In the Bible, in the second epistle of Thessalonians we come across a fascinating prophecy. The apostle Paul compelled by God’s spirit in this letter is caused to predict the future and warn true believers of the gospel about a coming evil.

Paul was caused to write this in or around the first century AD - and although the message was very relevant for the readers at that date the prophecy stretches far into the future - to our day and even beyond.

In verse 3 we read:

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day [The return of Jesus] shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

Here is a remarkable thing. In the early stage of the spread of the gospel and the message of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God we have this warning. That there would be a falling away. An apostasy. That part of this apostasy would include a figurehead; A “man of sin,” a “son of destruction” or “perdition”. This man would be prominent and would position himself “above all that is called God”. He would put himself above that which is and should be worshipped. The prophecy says that this one would, as if he were God Himself, sit in the temple of God in the position of God.

Who is this person? Who in the world positions themselves in such an audacious way?

The prophecy goes on in verse 7:

“...the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10

Clues to identifying the man of sin

From this then we obtain some clues as to who this “Man of Sin” is:

1. The Man of Sin system starts within the first century - The system to which he belongs was already “at work” in the first century. Something was blocking him being revealed though and when this blocking force was removed he would be clearly seen.

2. The Man of Sin deceives - We read that the man of sin appears to have power and uses “signs” and “lying wonders”. He deceives in unrighteousness. He leads people to perish because they believe in him and not the truth.

3. Jesus will destroy the Man of Sin - This happens when Jesus returns to the earth. This would also indicate that the “man of sin system” although beginning in the apostle Paul’s time in the first century continues somehow down through time right up until our day and beyond to the time when Jesus Christ returns to the earth.

The prophecy ends with this warning to followers of the true gospel:

"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2: 11-12

The clear message then is not to have pleasure in the unrighteous things the man of sin system teaches. To stick to the truth and stay away from His teachings for he is part of a delusion. An apostasy which leads to destruction.

The Papacy

But who or what is this man of sin? Which figurehead, who leads a religious system can be shown to have begun in the first century and has also continued down to our time? There is only one such system and it is that of the papacy. No other religion has such a figurehead system of successors which began back in the first century and has continued up to today.

Russia looking for slice of Turkey

Russia and Turkey sliceUnder US Sanctions, Turkey's economy melts, its NATO membership is questioned, and Russia is looking for a slice of Turkey.

America and Turkey have engaged in an economic war of tariffs and sanctions. Turkey's place in NATO is being questioned - unbalancing the status quo in the Middle East as it is a buffer between Russia and the Middle East and between the Middle East and Europe. All the while Russia is circling the prey, looking to take a slice out of Turkey. In this edition of the Bible in the News we examine the storm that has been brewing and the prophecies related to it.

The political world is a volatile place described, at times, to be like the sea and waves roaring, by our Lord (Luke 21:25). Indeed the prophet Isaiah describes the political scene in similar terms:

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea, When it cannot rest, Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.” (Isaiah 57:20)

Daniel, when seeing a vision of the nations in chapter 7 described what he saw:

“Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.” (Daniel 7:2–3)

This week has been no different with a storm gripping Turkey, a country that borders the Middle East, Europe and Russia. A storm has been brewing for quite some time.

Turkey In Prophecy

For years, Turkey, or its predecessor the Ottoman Empire ruled the Middle East. Turkey’s role was introduced with the unloosing of the four angels bound in the Euphrates in Revelation 9:

“And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.” (Revelation 9:13–14)

The first three angels were the Seljuk Turks under Togrul Beg, the Mongols under Gengis Khan, and the Moguls under Tamerlane. These all flooded into the Byzantine third of the Roman Empire. The Fourth Angel was the Ottoman Turks who were unleashed on the Byzantium, and conquered it in 1453 under Mehemet II, establishing the Ottoman Empire that lasted until 1917.

The Bible predicted the unleashing of these four powers into the area of the Middle East under the Trumpet judgments, and their successive drying up under the Vials. Revelation 16 details the drying up in period of the 6th Vial.

“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” (Revelation 16:12)

The removal of the Ottoman Turks from what was then termed Palestine made way for the coming Kingdom of God.

The British and the Young Lions were involved in the drying up of the Ottoman Empire in 1917 when General Allenby lead the Allied forces and pushed the Ottomans back to the geographic area we know as Turkey today, preparing the way for the birth of the Nation of Israel. This was identified by Isaiah when he wrote:

“Surely the isles shall wait for me, And the ships of Tarshish first, To bring thy sons from far, Their silver and their gold with them, Unto the name of the LORD thy God, And to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.” (Isaiah 60:9)

This has been documented in previous Bible in the News sessions, as well as Bible Magazine articles.

Today we are looking at the remnants of the Turkish Empire, which yet have a role to play in the time of the end. Let us consider the situation today.

Turkey Against the US in Syria

Former US Ambassador to Turkey

Turkey has been a strategic partner of the USA and NATO for some time in the global struggle for world domination that was played out in previous generations between the Soviet Union and NATO.

Turkey is not just President Erdogan but a regional geographic and economic giant that stands as a buffer between Europe and the Middle East, and between the Middle East and Russia. Losing Turkey as a Western ally would mean bringing the Mideast to Europe’s threshold, and the potential frontier of Russian influence into the heart of the Middle East. Turkey is also the state best positioned to balance against Iran, whose ambitions and influence are growing along with its partnership with Russia. The dependency is mutual; without the United States, Turkey would be left to Tehran and Moscow’s tender mercies. In a March article, former US Ambassador to Turkey James F. Jeffrey wrote the following:

Jeffrey was commenting on the degrading of the relationship between Turkey and the USA.

In the ongoing Syrian civil war, the USA has backed the Kurdish YPG (peoples protection unit), a Syrian offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). Turkey considers them terrorists and invaded Syria to combat them. This has brought two NATO allies face to face on opposite sides of the battlefield. In February, Bloomberg reported of an exchange between officials of the two countries:

General Paul Funk

The U.S. commander, Lieutenant General Paul Funk, said in a direct warning to Turkey in the interview General Paul Funk

“You hit us, we will respond aggressively. We will defend ourselves,”

Turkish President Erdogan addressed the Turkish parliament about the heated situation in Syria and threatened America stating:

“It’s obvious that those who say, ‘If you hit us, we’ll hit back hard,’ have never in their lives gotten an Ottoman slap… We’re going to destroy every terrorist we see. Then they’ll understand that it’d be better for them not to stand beside them.”

In his article, Jeffrey argued for the need to preserve America’s relationship with Turkey:

Preserving the Turkish-American alliance and the strategic value both sides derive from it will require refocusing on shared strategic threats, such as the growing Russia-Iran alliance, while compromising on the disagreements distracting from that focus.

The obvious reason is the Russian-Iranian Alliance. The need to counter the growing Russian influence in the world would supply the reason for maintaining this alliance, but God has other plans as the scriptures outline which we will consider shortly.

The Nation State Law of Israel

Examining the new law and see how it fits in with the course the finger of God has indicated for the Jewish people.

In late July 2018 international feathers have flown because Israel introduced its controversial Nation State Law - this law is a fulfilment of multiple Bible prophecies which are the Lord's doing!

israel approves controversial jewish nation state lawInternational feathers have flown because Israel introduced its controversial Nation State Law on July 19, 2018. Critics are calling it “the end of democracy in Jerusalem”, “a document that officially creates an apartheid state”, a “move toward right wing nationalism”, “fascism” and many other hyperbolic dire predictions.

Bible in the News examines this law to see how it fits in with the course the finger of God has indicated for the Jewish people.

A Downtrodden People

The fact Israel has even come into existence is an affront to many people. For thousands of years the Jewish people were consigned to 3rd class citizen status in the various nations where they were scattered. They were oppressed, persecuted, and driven out of even their host nations. In many places they were not allowed to own land, not allowed to participate in politics, not allowed into society. They remained in largely separate communities, such as the Pale of Settlement in Russia, where they were ghettoized and forced to live apart.  When assimilation became possible, it was quickly followed by reactionary pogroms or purges and the Jews were quickly pushed out of society once again.

The plight of Israel over the centuries comes directly out of the Bible. In the law of Moses, God warned Israel of the consequence of rejecting him as their God:

“And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.” (Deuteronomy 28:64–67)

Israel went into exile after the Babylonian invasion of Jerusalem around 600 BC. They returned under Ezra and Nehemiah but lived under the domination of the Medo-Persians, followed by the Greeks and finally the Roman Empire. It was during the Roman domination that the Lord Jesus Christ, referring to Daniel’s prophecy again predicted their scattering:

“As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down….

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh…

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:6, 20, 24)

In AD 70 the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple and sent them into exile once again, where they remained until the last century.

In 1899 Mark Twain wrote of their plight and of the complete lack of empathy amongst Christians for the Jews:

A First Official Royal Visit

Prince William Visits the State of Israel and brings a Gift

During the week of 9th of July  2018  the English Prince William Duke of Cambridge made the first Royal official visit to the state of Israel ever.

The fact that it has taken until 2018 to finally have the first royal visit may have come to a surprise to some.

Prince Willian in Israel first visit

Well it certainly is not that historically the royals have been dis interested in the holy land.  It was in 1862 that Queen Victoria sent another young Prince of Wales on a tour of the Middle East, 21 year old Albert – who would later become King Edward VII.  And only three years later under the royal patronage of Queen Victoria in the Palestine Exploration Fund was founded which would begin to shake the dust off the old city of Jerusalem under the hand of the archeologist Charles Warren.  And the British did not stop there, it was they themselves who were principally involved in the idea of the homeland for the Jewish people, of course through the issuance of the Balfour Declaration.

So with all this interest and history why would it take so long for a visit to the State of Israel? Well if you know your history, British support for ‘a national home for the Jewish people’ did not last even though it was reaffirmed in the White Paper of 1922, known as the ‘Churchill White Paper,’ and received international support at the San Remo conference and the Treaty of Sèvres.

Unfortunately, as time went by and oil became an important commodity appeasing the Arabs who were instigated by the Vatican became increasingly British policy.  In fact, the British government would appease the Arabs to the point of outright hostility to the Jewish population in Palestine as it was called at that point.  Plain and simple Britain would go against its word and it would destine countless Jews to die in Europe during WWII.

Over the decades since the founding of the State of Israel its ties to Britain have increased, and it has been argued that Britain really needs Israel more than Israel needs Britain.  The following was written in Haaretz in an analysis piece asking what has changed to bring about the royal visit now:

“For a start, the United Kingdom – on what seems an irreversible course to leave the European Union following its Brexit vote – is trying to carve out a new niche for itself in international diplomacy.

Britain in Bible Prophecy: Britain’s road to EU exit as required by the Bible

2nd Anniversary of the EU Referendum - Brexit negotiations and Bible prophecy

As we approach the 2nd anniversary of Britain’s historic decision to leave the European Union, and with the October deadline for a deal, set by Michel Barnier, now just months away, this week we look at what is to be expected from the Brexit process in light of Bible prophecy.

Ezekiel 38 refers to a future invasion of Israel by a large confederacy of nations. These nations include Magog as well as “Gomer and all his bands”. By comparing references from Josephus and Herodotus we can find that Magog refers to eastern Europe, and in a similar way, by comparing Josephus with another Greek historian Diodorus Siculus we can find that Gomer refers to a large section of Western Europe, particularly France. From this we see that continental Europe is united in this military venture. Late last year we saw 23 EU countries, headed by France and Germany, agree to start the process of integrating their armies to create a European army which could mark the beginning of the assembly of the great confederacy written about by Ezekiel 2500 years ago.

Vlad Putin and Brexitx300hRussian President Vladimir Putin observing military exercises in the Black Sea region

Ezekiel 38 also refers to “the merchants of Tarshish” and “the young lions thereof” along with Sheba and Dedan who oppose this confederacy. So, who might these opposing nations be? By comparing the mentions of Tarshish in the Bible with the accounts of historians (such as Herodotus) it seems clear that Tarshish is Britain.

Israel’s Next 70 Years Will Shake the World

As Israel celebrates its 70th Anniversary the Bible clearly shows what the next 70 years will bring - and it is going to shake the world.

As the tiny nation of Israel celebrates its 70th birthday, Bible prophecy figures heavily into the events that have taken place. These same prophecies also give us a clear indication of what Israel’s next 70 years will bring… and this will shake the world to its foundations!

This past week the Bible was in the News once again as Israel celebrated its 70th Birthday.

No nation under heaven has had more reason to celebrate. The Jewish people have survived millennia of diaspora. They have survived persecution from pagans, Christians, and Muslim nations. The arose out of the ashes of the holocaust, the pogroms of Russia and the persecution in Islamic countries to become a nation once again. This is a direct fulfillment of the words of Jeremiah:

“Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; Neither be dismayed, O Israel: For, lo, I will save thee from afar, And thy seed from the land of their captivity; And Jacob shall return, And shall be in rest, and be quiet, And none shall make him afraid. For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: Though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, Yet will I not make a full end of thee: But I will correct thee in measure, And will not leave thee altogether unpunished.” (Jeremiah 30:10–11)

Israel celebrated 70 years this week, a feat that is the direct result of the Bible.

Israel at 70 1

Over the last 70 years Israel’s population has increased. A consensus take n in May of 1948 put Israel’s population at 600,000. It has exploded to almost 9 million with about 75% being Jews. Over 600,000 live in the West Bank. This population explosion is again prophesied in the Bible:

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, That I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah With the seed of man, and with the seed of beast. And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, To pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, And to destroy, and to afflict; So will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 31:27–28)

The time to pluck up and pull down is over, and the time to plant and build has come.

Israel reflects on the pioneers turning a desert back farmland.

The 70th year celebrations featured a display of the reclamation of the barren land from deserts and swamps to the agricultural miracle we see today. This is also a direct fulfillment of Bible prophecy:

“And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, And they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; And they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; They shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, And they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, Saith the LORD thy God.” (Amos 9:14–15)

Again, the prophet Jeremiah records:

“For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.” (Jeremiah 24:6)

Israel economy has also been blossoming.  It rose from $2.5 billion in 1960, to approximately $387.4 billion in 2017.  Its economic growth was ahead of the USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia, France, Germany, and Russia in 2016, according to Considering that Israel is only 70 years old, and yet is ahead of nations who have been in existence for centuries, and some for millennia, it is again miraculous. Once again, this is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, where Ezekiel describes:

“… the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.” (Ezekiel 38:12)

Gas Explosion Erupts Across Europe and in the Middle East

Europes energy requirements, Russia's energy dominance, and Israel's energy finds set the world on a collision course.

Europe is looking to diversify its Russian dominated gas supply, Israel and Egypt joining forces to compete. Alliances are forming between Egypt and Israel to supply gas to Europe, while German and Russia are forming alliances to dominate gas in Europe. This could well bring the two groups in to a collision course that has been predicted in the Bible.

During this past week headlines once again brought the dispute between Ukraine and Russia into focus. A headline in CBC news read, “Standoff between Russia and Ukraine over natural gas leaves Europe on edge.

Russia is Europe’s main supplier of natural gas, but it is transported through the Ukraine, which obviously is not friendly to

Russia turned off the gas to Ukraine, and consequently Europe this week.

EU vs Russia Gas1

Russia following Russia’s invasion and annexation of the Crimea. On March 1, Russia turned off the gas. According to CBC:

The tense standoff between Ukraine and Russia also left Europeans on the edge of their seats, asking what's next when it comes to their future supply of the highly lucrative resource

Ukraine and Russia rely on each other to deliver gas to Europe. The Russians pump natural gas through pipelines in Ukraine and deliver it to Europe, but the deep-seated distrust that has turned into hatred between the two countries is causing chaos…

Russia’s energy grip on Europe has politicians throughout the EU scrambling. The article continued:

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller announced the company intended to withdrawal from all contracts with Naftogaz, including the all-important transit contracts supplying gas through Ukraine to Europe.

The Prophetic Russo-German Alliance

What has this to do with Bible prophecy? Well, what is interesting is the alliances that are being formed to solve this problem, which we’ll come to in just a moment.

Before we do, let’s consider the picture the Bible paints at the time of the end. The scriptures speak in certain terms of a Russo-Germanic alliance at the time of the end. Ezekiel 38 clearly states who is in the confederacy that invades Israel:

Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:” (Ezekiel 38:2–4)

The word “chief” in this passage is a proper noun, and the RV interprets the passage, “the prince of Rosh”. Rosh is the ancient name for Russia. The land of Magog cuts into Germany as has been identified by numerous historians and geographers. The prophecy also includes lands of both France and Germany when the tribes of Gomer are mentioned:

Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.” (Ezekiel 38:6–7)

Israel India the United States and the Gathering Nations as Seen at the UN

In this article we examine the visit of Netanyahu to India, the reaction to Trump's declaration of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and a speech from VP Mike Pence!

“All of these nations that take our money and then they vote against us at the Security Council or they vote against us, potentially, at the Assembly, they take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars and then they vote against us.  Well, we’re watching those votes, let them vote against us; we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.” - Donald Trump, December 20, 2017

Well after the vote Trump did cut $285 Million dollars from the UN in December and now after a vicious anti Trump speech of Mahmoud Abbas the US will now be cutting a total of $110 million from the UNRWA.

Welcome to another edition of the Bible in the News, this is John Billington with you this week.

The scriptures are clear that in the last days all the nations will unite against Israel

“And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel” - Ezekiel 38:16

“For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,  I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” - Joel 3:1,2

Well there is no better place to see the nations uniting against Israel than at the UN, it really is incredible.  But as the funding is being cut to UNRWA I thought it would be a good time to put the spotlight there.

UNHRC is the UN agency for refugee’s around the world, but UNRWA is the UN refugee agency for only the Palestinians, the only refugee group to have their own agency.  And by having a separate agency just for the Palestinians coincidentally means that not all things are equal.  To start with the definition of a refugee differs wildly.

Definition of a Palestinian refugee from the UNRWA Website -

“Palestine refugees are defined as “persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine during the period 1 June 1946 to 15 May 1948, and who lost both home and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 conflict.”

UNRWA services are available to all those living in its area of operations who meet this definition, who are registered with the Agency and who need assistance. The descendants of Palestine refugee males, including adopted children, are also eligible for registration. When the Agency began operations in 1950, it was responding to the needs of about 750,000 Palestine refugees. Today, some 5 million Palestine refugees are eligible for UNRWA services.”

On a side note it is worth noting that there were approximately 800,000 Jewish refugee’s from Arab lands that had to flee after WWII and the declaration of the State of Israel.  They were however integrated into Israel very quickly.  There are no longer any Jewish refugees.

Comparatively the definition from the UNHRC of a refugee is simply the following:

“A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war, or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group.”

The following paragraph about descendants is absent.  This definition has huge impacts to the Israeli Palestinian problem because there are only approximately 30,000 individuals left that were personally displaced in 1946 - 1948.  Instead by calculating in the descendants the UNRWA is claiming 5 million refugees.

In any peace negotiations the “right of return” of these refugees is a major sticking point.  The “right of return” when you are speaking about 5 million refugee’s coming into Israel obviously has huge implications to the demographics of Israel, and could quickly removed the Jewishness of the state.  It is simply a demographic weapon against Israel.

Miracles of Bible Prophecy Coming to Pass in Israel

The people of Israel are all in Expectation of something happening soon! 439900350 1280x720

We live in very exciting times! The words of the prophets are being fulfilled right before our eyes.

Isaiah 27:13 says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.” Friends, we live in the days of the great trumpet. In the time period of the seventh trumpet in Revelation, which is also the time of the resurrection trumpet, the gathering together of Israel from the four corners of the earth, which Isaiah is speaking of. In the news we hear about events in Russia, Syria and Iran as those nations come together, under the protectorate of Russia — the king of the north. We see the great merchant powers of the earth and Saudi Arabia coming together and forming a southern alliance. All these are incredible events. But the national revival of Israel is the greatest of them all.

How could a people, scattered to the four corners of the earth, in over 100 different countries, speaking over 80 different languages, ever come together again into one nation, in one land, speaking a revived common ancient language — the language of the Bible? It is unprecedented in human history. Now all these miracles have happened to bring this nation to life. Each one of them, the return of the Jewish people, the resurrection of the their language, their return to their ancient homeland, their survival against all odds, as the surrounding nations attempted to annihilate them… each one, is a great trumpet blast reminding us that we live in the days of the great shofar.

Some have tried to say that the Jews came back as a self fulfilling prophecy. But this ignores the fact that the early return was almost entirely secular. During the early years of the state of Israel, it was a secular nation. However, as this great return and revival took place, the Jewish people have realized that this is the hand of the Almightily. Seeing Jews from the four corners of the earth, Ethiopia, America, Russia, Iraq, Persia and Yemen all together is an undeniable fulfilment of prophecy.

More and more of the Jewish people are recognizing the hand of the Almighty and the fulfilment of prophecy in these events.

This week David Billington was really struck by a speech given at the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem by Israeli member of Parliament Yehudah Glick, reported by Israeli news Arutz Sheva, where he speaks about how prophecy is fulfilling right before our eyes and about his vision of Jerusalem being the future capital of the world.
Israel Yehudah Glick speaking about Bible Prophecy"Ladies and Gentlemen, it really is a wonderful miracle to be here. We can’t take things for granted. We’re sitting in the hotel King David, in the city of King David, ladies and gentlemen, we have to remind ourselves, coming to Israel, Anthony, is not just sightseeing. Coming to Israel is to see the words of the prophets, coming out of the book, materializing and becoming a reality. You can tell Ezekiel, the bones aren’t dry anymore. You can tell Jeremiah, Jerusalem is not isolated like a widow anymore.

You can tell Zechariah, children are playing in the streets of Jerusalem. Ladies and gentlemen, the words of the prophets are coming out of the book, and we’re writing the next chapter of the book in our generation. We’re seeing it happen with our own eyes. And we have a mission, that Jerusalem should be the Godly capital of the Jewish people and of the world. We don’t need the world to recognize Jerusalem.
