God's Plan for this World and You

THE view of planet earth, seen from outer space, is very beautiful indeed. Confirmation of this has come from the astronauts who have gazed upon it. The earth is the fairest jewel in God's creation and it is the chosen place in the whole universe where He has promised to reveal His Kingdom in all its glory. That is why it is so beautiful.

The earth, of all the planets in the solar system, is the one that is perfectly suited to all forms of life and the one that orbits at exactly the right distance from the sun to provide comfortable conditions for the human race.

WHY IS BIBLE TRUTH SO IMPORTANT?

Bible Truth

THE IMPORTANCE OF BIBLE TRUTH

Is Bible Truth important to your Faith and Salvation ie. will you be saved despite what you believe the bible teaches or does it matter what you believe?

Well the word “truth” appears 237 times in the bible, that alone says it must be important!

Therefore it must be important to understand what “truth” is.

A quick scan of the passages using this word “truth” leave us in no doubt that it is not only important, but vital to our salvation.

John 17:3

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1 John 5:20

20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1 Timothy 2:3-4

3For thisis good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Clearly then knowing what is Bible Truth is important and vital, in addition to this we are also warned that some would depart from the “truth”…

1 Timothy 4:1

1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

1 John 4:6

6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

From these passages it is very clear that we need to know the “truth” about God and His Son as it is taught to us in the Bible.  This means we must learn what this is from the Bible itself.

Don't let your HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL rest with someone else eg. your pastor or minister, YOU owe it to yourself and your family to be fully convinced of what it is you believe to be sure it HOLDS something REAL for you.

We have all been warned by God that there would be many false teachers and Jesus himself has told us that "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."  See Matthew 7:14

Sadly when Christ returns to this earth, many will only then realise that they have believed in lies Jeremiah 16:19

"19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit."

Don't let this be you or your family!

What We Believe

True Bible Teaching fundamental beliefs are:

  1. The Bible is God's word and the only message from him. It is without error, except for copying and translation errors.
  2. There is only one God - the Father. The Holy Spirit is God's power.
  3. Jesus is the Son of God, and a human being, through his mother Mary.
  4. Man is mortal, having no existence when dead.
  5. By living a sinless life, ending with his sacrificial death by crucifixion, Jesus has opened the way of salvation from death.
  6. Belief and baptism are essential steps to salvation.
  7. God raised Jesus from death. Jesus is currently in Heaven, on God's right hand. He will one day return.
  8. When Jesus returns, he will raise his "sleeping" followers from death and grant immortality to the faithful who have tried to live by God's precepts.
  9. His followers will help him to rule, bringing justice, righteousness and peace to the whole world - the Kingdom of God.

The Bible is our only true source for the Truth!

If we claim to follow Christ we should trust in the Scriptures as confidently as Jesus and his Apostles did:

Jesus said that: The Scripture cannot be broken.  (John 10:35)

Paul said that: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Peter said that: For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21)

The things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven (1 Peter 1:12)

True faith must be founded on a fully inspired Bible.

The OFFER of LIFE or DEATH

God's Offer of LIFE or DEATH

“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.   See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him… This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life…"  Deuteronomy Chapter 30:12-20

From this passage we see how important it is to each one of us that we seek after God and His Word the Bible to us.

Without this we have no hope of LIFE, but only a future of DEATH.

This Word of God was originally given to the Nation of Israel and later it spread via the Apostles of Christ to the World, that even we today might have this same HOPE of LIFE ETERNAL.

It is UP to YOU then to seek out God’s Word, to KNOW what is the TRUTH of God’s Word so that you and your family might KNOW the way of LIFE ETERNAL and the great HOPE of living in God’s Kingdom on EARTH.

Do not let your HOPE rest upon others and most importantly on what others teach, search it out for yourself because we have been warned that the churches would be astray from God’s word in the last days.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”   2 Timothy 4:3-4

Too much is at stake for you to not act yourself to seek out the TRUTH.

Christ himself has told us to do this when he said…

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Godis a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24

The Bible Is Our ONLY Guide

The Holy BibleThe Bible provides us with plain Scriptural Teaching for the True Followers of Christ

The statements on this guide represent what we believe is true Bible teaching. The statements are deliberately challenging, asking every reader to compare his own opinions with the plain teaching of Scripture, examining carefully the Bible passages offered as proof. If, as a result, a change of mind and heart is called for, there will be no doubt that the teaching of the Lord, and the book he trusted, must be followed and not what the churches teach.

All Scripture quotations are taken from the New King James (also known as the Revised Authorized) Version of the Bible.

We Need to Worship God in TRUTH AND SPIRIT

We Need to Worship God in TRUTH AND SPIRIT!

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

Worship God

It is a fundamental essential of pure religion to worship the Father in spirit and in truth. There are many who worship God in the spirit, having a humble, emotional attitude in their prayer and supplication, but they do not honor Him with a good understanding of the truth of His word.God's Word of Truth the Bible

Conversely, there are others who may have every jot or tittle of the Word firmly planted in their minds, but they are unable to effectively absorb this knowledge into their heart and apply it in their lives.

Thy Word is True

The Word of God as originally written is completely true, but there are many private interpretations that greatly diminish its value. Consequently, there are those "who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." (Romans 1:25)

Jesus, who was a living manifestation of the true Word of God, spoke of himself as the way, the truth, and the life: His teachings were true, they were consistent with the teachings of God as recorded for our learning in the Old Testament. Today, there are a multitude of Christian books, tapes, and videos that claim to provide insight into the Word of God, but if they are not true reflections of the teachings of the Bible they can deceive the people. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:20)

Mixtures of Truth

An outright lie is often less dangerous than a mixture of the truth. When something sounds very much like the words of the Bible and when the lies are cleverly mixed with true facts, people are easily deceived, even as Eve was deceived by the lies of the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

To worship the Father in spirit and in truth, one must first "study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."(2 Timothy 2:15) We must search the Scriptures daily to see if these expositions of the Bible are based on the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. (Acts 17:11)

"For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."(Romans 2:28-29)

Circumcision of the Heart

Being born of the spirit so that we can worship the Father in spirit and in truth is not a concept that is unique to the teachings of Jesus. This idea is found in the whole council of God.

Ancient Israel was told, "And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live." (Deuteronomy 30:6)

This Old Testament teaching is amplified by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans. (See Romans 2: 28-29 as quoted above.) Paul makes the point that circumcision of the flesh is outward and that circumcision of the heart is inward. Even as being born of the water in this dispensation is an outward act while being born of the spirit is an inward influence in our heart.

The physical act of circumcision of the flesh was a type of circumcision of the heart. The foreskin of sin's flesh was removed indicating symbolically, that it is important to remove sin from our hearts. Jesus spoke to this need when he said, "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:21-23)

The manifestation of these evil thoughts in action is even more damaging than thinking about them. Jesus also taught however, that we need to transform our hearts before the sin even begins. "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28 - See also Jeremiah 17:9-10; 2 Corinthians 10:5)

Circumcision and the Believer

The teachings of the Apostles make it clear that circumcision of the flesh is not to be practiced by the followers of Christ today. In the first century, there were those who tried to promote circumcision as a necessity, but they were told this was not how to worship God in truth. (See Acts 15)

Circumcision of the heart is still important. This is simply another expressing for being born again of the spirit, for being transformed by the renewing of our minds and becoming as a little child. There are a number of other New Testament expressions like "circumcision of the heart" encouraging us to develop the inner man in Christ Jesus. (See John 3: 5; Matthew 18:3; Romans 12:1-2; Luke 22:32; Ephesians 3:16-17.)

There are many elements of Old Testament Law that are no longer binding on those who worship God in spirit and truth today. However, these things were "were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." (Romans 15:4) We can still learn from these early examples so that we will understand how to "serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter." (Romans 7:6)

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:1-2)

Sacrifice a Type

The use of sacrifices as a means of worship in the Old Testament pointed forward to the sacrifice of Christ, the lamb of God who would take away sin.Sacrifice a Type

We no longer practice these typical offerings of lambs without blemish. They were provided as lessons to lead us to Christ. However, the idea of sacrifice is still very much a part of our spiritual worship.

Living Sacrifice

Our offering today is a living sacrifice patterned after the lessons taught in the animal sacrifices. We still want our offering to be unspotted by sin; we also want our service to be the very best that we have and we want to be able to offer it willingly.

Jesus asked his followers to willingly offer a life of denial and self-sacrifice. "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." (Luke 9:23)

This life of sacrifice requires a long term commitment. The typical sacrifices in the Old Testament were basically one time events, even though they were repeated annually and for various occasions of transgression. A living sacrifice is something that involves a continual offering; it is the full time sacrifice of our will in respect for the will of God.

This daily offering of spiritual worship requires a change of thinking. We are asked to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This is our spiritual birth, our conversion to become as a little child. The ways of the old man must be left behind and the new man must be developed in response to a continual diet of spiritual food from the Word of God.

Our minds cannot be changed from fleshly to spiritual thinking unless they are renewed continually with the influence of the Words of God. Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4) He demonstrated in his own life how important the Word was and he used his memory of Scripture to help him resist temptation. (Psalm 119:11)

So it is that this transformation of the mind to the spirit must begin in and continue with a daily supply of the Word of God. We must be "born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." (1 Peter 1:23)Born Again

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
(John 3:5)

Being Born Again

Jesus made it very clear that we must be born again and that there are two stages to our new birth. First, we must be born of the water, which is our baptism by immersion. Jesus told his disciples, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." (Mark 16:15-16)Being Born Again

Being born of the spirit is more involved and it can be difficult to understand. In John chapter 3, Nicodemus was confused by this concept and he asked, "How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" (John 3: 4) Jesus told him, "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." (Verse 8)

The wind blows but it is difficult to see the direction. Being born of the spirit is not an outward act, such as our baptism in water. Something has to take place inside of our heart. We have to be sufficiently influenced by the true Word of God so that we are motivated to manifest that Word in our lives. Peter explained this as "being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." (1 Peter 1:23)

Being born of the spirit is something that happens in stages. We are first born again by the Word of God. We hear the Word and receive it into our hearts developing faith. Our response to the influence of the Spirit Word in our hearts leads us to repentance; hopefully this will result in the obedience of faith as we enter into the water to be born again.

The next stage is a progressive conversion, a transforming of our minds from carnal to spiritual. We must be converted, humbled as a little child, trusting completely in our Heavenly Father to feed and lead us. As this new man develops, turning away from sin and bearing fruit unto holiness, we are then better equipped to worship the Father in spirit and in truth. If we are faithful in our spiritual worship, our hope is to be completely born of the spirit, by being granted eternal life in God's Kingdom.

God's Declared Purpose with YOU and the EARTH

ARE YOU SAVED?  IF SO HOW ARE YOU SAVED?

Is YOUR knowledge of the BIBLE

and YOUR belief and worship of GOD

able to SAVE YOU?

Not sure? Well consider this passage from JOHN CHAPTER 17

"1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do."

The Greek word for "know" is 'genosko' and it means to have a thorough intellectual understanding of what something is all about.

Do you have this understanding of God and His Son

Jesus Christ?

The need for this full understanding of the TRUTH is further underlined by Christ's words in John 17:17Only a TRUE understanding of the Word of God can Save YOU

We are sanctified in our understanding of God's word of Truth ie. set apart as special unto God and Christ, without this we cannot be saved.  Just as Israel were not saved when they strayed from their TRUE knowledge of God.

God's special people the nation of Israel were destroyed for lack of knowledge as we read in Hosea 4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

In Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.

In Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

The Apostle Paul has warned us that some would not be in the Faith (ie. the true knowledge of God and Christ)...

1 Timothly 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
And again by the Apostle Peter...

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And in 2 Thessalonians where the Apostle Paul tells us that some would fall away from "the Truth" he says that this would be becaused they had lost their love of the Truth and had chosen rather to believe a lie.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

"10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

And so the Apostle Paul counselled us all to Work out OUR OWN SALVATION...

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

You owe it to yourself and your family to seek the Truth

about God, His Son Jesus and His purpose with you

and this earth.
